for 99% of tapes right now i got the panasonic pv-9451 going thru a funai sv2000 for time base correction, into a gv-usb2. then i capture lossless avi with amarec and do all the post-processing for the video in staxrip. long process but the results speak for themse;ves
@@waymu-vhs Very impressive, I might have to do something similar to archive my old tapes as well and have them still play nicely in digital format today. I noticed nothing below 1080p for my old videos looks as accurate as how it plays (or played) on my TV directly. Basically although VHS was 240p (or 360p) in analog, it looks horrible (or too compressed) on digital unless it's captured in 1080p. As I said, very impressive and you give me inspiration to do something similar! Look forward to watching more of your content (which plays nicely on my 4k TV) thanks to the system you use.
@@avalongmail all the finished files of full tapes i do are regular old 480p with variable bit rate so the quality's as good as it can be. i just blast the files up for youtube because yeah anything below 1080 on here gets real gnarly. bit rate retention on uploads gets even better if you upscale after the fact to 4K but i never bother cuz it takes a lot longer lol.
That Pathmark commercial at 11:30 is *amazing*
Thank you for adding more pleasant pieces to my childhood memories.
I miss when America was this magical it truly breaks my heart that magical atmosphere is gone😢

Election 1984 commercials
This actually aired on Election Night, Tuesday November 6th, 1984. Not the 4th.
you're right i misread newspapers
Excellent quality! What setup are you using to get this in high quality video and audio? Are you using a time based corrector?
