Ramos Pinto - DOC Douro Quinta de Ervamoira 2021

The history of Quinta de Ervamoira dates back to the Palaeolithic Era, passing through Roman occupation from the 2nd century A.D. onwards. Around the 8th century it witnessed the arrival of Islamic troops and later the construction of medieval buildings. The Quinta's relationship with Ramos Pinto began in the early 1970s when, after years of tirelessly searching for the perfect spot, José António Ramos Pinto Rosas exclaimed: "This is it!".
Half a century later, Ramos Pinto, by the hand of Jorge Rosas, the current CEO and son of José Rosas, launched D.O.C. Douro Quinta de Ervamoira. A wine from a unique, one-off place on the banks of the River Côa.
The amphitheatre-shaped Quinta, located in the Douro Superior sub-region, covers an area of 223 hectares, of which 150 are vineyards. Here you can visit the Ervamoira Site Museum, a space dedicated to Man, the Vineyards and Nature.
It was on this estate that modern Douro viticulture was born. In 1974, the first planting of five carefully studied and selected grape varieties was carried out, oriented towards the slope.
