Hi Kristen! I actually have sourdough starter I made from scratch back in October 2022. It lives in my fridge and I feed it weekly and I can make fresh sourdough anytime. It does take some time to make, but homemade fresh bread is so rewarding! Happy birthday!! 🎉
I have been baking sourdough bread for about a year. It is really easy to make your own starter. It is just flour and water! It is not labor intensive, just need to work it into your schedule.
I really wish we had that good an experience at Narcoossee's. The waitress and everyone that brought food to our table (which was a lot of different people) were hard to talk to, it was LOUD, the seafood charcuterie was like $10 a bite (though I LOVED it), the Lobster bisque was meh and a bad temperature, the entrees were boring (scallops, steak, lobster tail, but not anything special flavor wise) dessert was truly incredible. The drinks were good too. But we just felt like we were invisible (21st wedding anniversary) and then when we tried to go outside to watch the fireworks, there were angry patrons inside yelling at us to move over so they could see better from their table. We could not find a spot where people weren't being entitled and awful. I have to believe it was just a weird combination of a bunch of people having an off night!
Definitely saw your Narcoosees video from last year! Cracked up at Sean’s water review 😂 and then immediately went and booked a res for my trip last summer 😅 LOVED it!!! the scallops with gnocchi was incredible, plus of course the cheesecake! Definitely one of the best meals ever. Have an awesome birthday!!! 🎉

Excellent review! I love sourdough, too! The crunch sounded great. That was a hell of a lot of food but it all looked so good. I’m also not a filet fan. A rib eye is my favorite. I think I would order that just for the lobster tail, yum! I would eat the cauliflower, 😂. I know your mom hates those “accompaniments” aka, veggies. The Honey Boo Boo and Mama June reference was funny!! I’m looking forward to eating there.

Sourdough is SO easy. Checkout Artisian Bread in Five Minutes a Day. The book is amazing and you can find the base recipe on line. A perfect bread for beginners. I think you will LOVE making bread.
No worries if you can't get a fireworks reservation time at narcoses as the boat dock and gaspstilla patio has great firework views and music eat before fireworks the walk to the boat rental area

Hey girly! I was literally just feeding my starter while watching this in the background haha… Sourdough is the hardest easiest thing ever. Once it’s active it’s easy, it can stay in the fridge and come out once a week to be fed when you want to bake it. The first seven days are definitely the most labor intensive, but once it’s active the rest is easy!
Didn't even watch the vid before commenting but will. Narcoosies is the best restaurant ever ! Wifey and I have stayed at Grand Floridian at least 2-3 times a year for the last 23 years. Always stay at the Sugar Loaf building concierge level. That is our go to place. Amazing food, views, wait staff and of course drinks. Shout out to Sid the bartender ! Sure Citricos is good and Vic and Al's is wonderful but Narcoosies beats them all in our opinion. Love the lake show and fireworks, we plan around those so we are there during the shows. Always get a seat on the glass for the perfect view.
