As a Raiders fan he is a 1st round pick 💯
The Raiders ruined Ferrel by picking him at #4. Conversely, if Mayock and Gruden had picked Crosby at #4, they would have been criticized even more at first, but would have looked like absolute geniuses by the end of his rookie year. Swap their draft spots, and we cut Ferrel after his rookie year or year 2, no one would have batted an eye.
I was like "why isn't anyone drafting Crosby"He was a beast at the combine and pff graded him well and he knew how to use his hands and play hard. If they drafted him at four I wouldn't called them geniuses that night. I knew Ferrell was done the moment he refused to run a 40. The combine isn't everything but the fact that he did other parts of the combine and they were bad and he refused the 40 told me whatever he refuses to do must be abysmal. If you aren't a above average athlete at that position too many other things have to go right

@@ciaranryan3652 Nowadays the term Edge kind of defines the rush end position. So OLB or DE's often are considered the same.

They didn't mention Rashan Gary either...and he was a IDL at Michigan as much as anything. He played a 3(more like a 4) tech over half his snaps.
But he plays OLBer in the NFL now. Same thing as Crosby. Doesn't Joey Bosa play in a 34 now? If so, he wouldn't be a DE either.
Distinction without a difference. BUT...for the purposes of this video, it makes the Crosby pick look that much better.

There was one other D-end stand out over the final 2 season who blew these 3 away in college. But he was a gimmick type player that didn’t work in the NFL at DE. But he’s on the Raiders as well.

The fact he was a 4th round pick makes his story amazing, but he’s not gonna be better than Bosa or Burns when their careers are done. What a loaded draft class for pass rushers.

@@JDProdNFL it would have been a better idea to just made it edge rushers instead of defensive ends. You left out some really good edge defenders like Allen and Gary just because they were drafted as 3-4 OLB when in reality they play almost the same role as a 4-3 DE. Also you included guys like Ximenes and Ferguson that were drafted as DE and now play OLB in the NFL. It would have been so much simpler to just include all edge rushers.
