Nice photogrqphy. Excellent knot for many uses just not this one. Tie that at night in a cold rain. Anchor point knots should be simple and quick. Your life migh5 depend on it.
@@andrewdunphy464because that's when you'd need them the most, I'm assuming. Making yourself a makeshift shelter to get out of the elements, etc. Basically, some people like to live survival fantasies that have about a 0.001% chance of happening, or could be entirely avoided by better planning/packing, etc., in their head.
It's a very secure knot that is considered the standard for attaching harnesses in climbing. So it won't slip and has high strength. It can get really tight though and could be difficult to untie if heavily loaded.
I was curious if others use this same technique around an anchor or ring and found this video below. It appears to be a standard method. ua-cam.com/video/GFlwrvggas0/v-deo.html
maybe yes maybe no but a student who practices enough will find their own way I can twist up a figure eight a couple different ways, and sometimes do it accidently since I don't like to force the issue really, the only thing asinine here is the OP
Interesting to see it tied in this way, directly around an anchoring point. Thank you for sharing!
You are welcome!

Fantastic! nice looking, too. Thanks
Thank you!
pls don't take knot advice from posers like this. There are plenty of competent channels that will show you how to tie knots properly.
Beautiful.

and why this knot for this task?

It's one of the only knots you're allowed to use if you're going to tie off when roofing.

How is it asinine if the result is the same. What a stupid comment
