Yes, was going to say - the guy having so much fun on the drums at 0:11 , would eventually take his own life from the tinnitus caused by not wearing hearing protection at this time and the years ahead with the band - a lot of it simply from likely beating the hell out of his drums itself (as a guy who plays multiple instruments, the drums are _loud_ ). Lesson to people who don't want their own: avoid or _wear hearing protection_ if you know you'll be exposed to loud sounds. I myself have some earplugs that maintain the full audio spectrum from low to high, damn near perfectly, while reducing the volume of things 20 to 30 dB. It's amazing and they were like $18! At 3:23, I've driven by that part of the Houston Metropolitan a million times where all of the oil refineries are located on my way to Galveston to go fishing with my brother. That part of the Houston suburb is called Texas City and it is located between Houston and Galveston just off the shores of the Gulf of Mexico and it is one of the best places in the country to go fishing and crabbing! That scene brings back a lot of memories of my time living in Houston.
Its a funny thing, I hadn't seen this video in years, and watching it again was struck by the amount of Houston / Texas City in it. My wife is from the area (she grew up in the Woodlands) but I grew up half a continent away in suburban Toronto (Newmarket to be exact). I'm going to university in England now, but back home in California at my job I'd listen to Inspiral Carpets when I unpacked boxes at work. Every time this came on I'd love it, but get mundane flashbacks of opening cardboard boxes. Then I saw them live in Reading last month! Good God it was brilliant! Everyone went mad for this one!
