I'm so glad you have a train cam for Revelstoke bc Canada. That crossing I know so well. Lived in Revelstoke for on and off about 21 yrs. Crossed that crossing all seasons for many years. Have friends who still use the crossing on a daily basis
1:30 nice to see BNSF welded rail train on the UP tracks 1:44 I've never seen one of those before! 1:55 that welded rail train has a rail laying car 2:06 seeing a classic car next to an old train is always amazing! I saw one with UP 844 in 2016 2:44 WOW! the N&W heritage unit as 3rd mid-train DPU (seen again at 4:02) 3:01 that looks more like art than graffiti on that box car 3:38 nice to see an Amtrak baggage at the rear instead 5:32 nice to see the weedkiller train again 10:22 wow, two transformers on one mixed freight train 13:29 nice to see Warbonnet 4701 leading 14:05 that's some great gray exhaust from that CP unit (with an unusual shield) with a UP unit behind it
The Norfolk and Western heritage unit is making lots of appearances lately. Also like seeing a train going past one cam and popping up on the next miles later. 13:35 seeing 4701 fakebonnet as the beginning of the BNSF only Dash-9 numbering and 9382, which I've seen in person many times and have the model of. Nice wave from a CP engineer aswell
I wonder how many people are aware that Norfolk Southern/ Norfolk & Western had their own line through La Plata that they inherited from the Wabash. It's gone now, but it ran from Moberly up into Iowa.
The way the AMTRACK train at Ashland pitches up and down and the plant life in the ballast. I think the track needs some attention? Remember the book/film/music album 'War of the worlds'? The might of the Martians was destroyed by a virus.
Question: What is the purpose of having engines in the middle of a freight train? Is to boost pulling capacity? Is it because at some point, it will break off from the main group, with the cars behind it?
These are called mid train D.P. U's. Distributed Power Units are remotely controlled from the head end locomotive. They are used, as you say, to boost power and increase braking control. In recent years, some trains have grown very long and heavy. Plus, some of these trains are run through some tough terrain, such as mountains or other places with severe grades. In these cases, having all the power at the front of the train will greatly increase the chance of breaking couplers and stopping the train. It could also cause a derailment through a phenomenon called "string lining". Two of these derailments happened at the famous Horseshoe Curve in Pennsylvania last summer. D.P.U's are also used at the rear of trains. These are different than manned helpers, which have a crew running them.
This is truly a great variety of catches. I don't want to rain on the parade, but could something be done about the pulsating effect of the video? Nevertheless, great video. Keep 'em coming.
Just like homeowners, railroads hate weeds. The tank cars hold the stuff to spray and the odd-looking white boxcar like car controls the when, where, how much is used.

That one train probably has more armor one it than most countries have. God bless the USA 🇺🇸
Alot more weight and value than the average tran.
Starting at 14:30 I could sleep to that sound. I spent many of nights sleeping in a house with tracks about 80ft from the front door.
Derek Hall
I grew up in a house that was 20 feet from the tracks!
Love the military train at the front. A long line of Abrams is a nice sight to see
Agreed, I've seen a few run through Flagstaff including one with some M109s.
Love the backwards motion coal train. So many cool sights in this grab bag!

Great video shots . Thanks for sharing.
Good stuff. Even got the lonely propane tanks in Deshler. 👍
Amtrak and CP engineers are hamming it up for cameras...love it!!

youtube knows me to well, a video about trains and tanks
I love the high pitched whistles when the videos are run at high speed.
I truly enjoy these "Grab Bags" !
That clip in Folkston at 2:07 was a time warp, except for the grafitti.
Alot of nice catches, enjoyed watching.
Yep starting to see trains come thru wenatchee with mid dpus
That Warbonnet at 13:35 almost looks like it was painted recentishly
Oh yea those tanks are awesome. I live where they are made. Straight from Ohio

@@samschaeffer8236 Is there a video of the Horseshoe Curve derailment still available?

There was an ns high hood gp38 on Santa fe one of those nights.
How many cars were on the military train
At 15:30, I thought I was looking at ‘Alan’ from The Hangover... 😂
6:19 404 heading Locomotive not found
The hoppers decided it was their time to shine
Nice trains
Tanks for miles.
I wonder where the amtrak train was headed because only the Auto train use superliners and I did not see any auto racks?
Which one?
Thank you , and my hat off to all !
Those Abrams look so much more beefy
if only there was a cam at the Sudbury VIA station, you'd see Budd RDC's everyday except Monday's.
Can somebody tell me what's going on at 13:19? According to Amtrak website all service between PHL and HAR is suspended.
AMTK does a daily run each direction, probably to reduce corrosion of catenary and rails.
@@LeftVegas Thanks for that info. Very helpful.
Ooh grab bag

That was a lot of tanks
5:49 what is that car?

What's at 9:38?
Uhhh...am I the only one questioning WHY there are so many tanks moving in the last few months???
Spring and Summer are coming. units are being moved around as they get ready for training and exercises
Armageddon...why else?! And YES, I'm being facetious.
