One of the best reactions I’ve seen to this. If not the best. You picked up soooo much in 1 (ish) listen. I listened to it about 10 times initially trying to get every bar. Then started watching reactions to it to see if they heard something I didn’t or were able to pick out an association. I mist have listened to this 50 times now, and still at times suddenly find a connection or link I hadn’t realised previously. This really was the ‘rise of the lyricists’! Wish more mainstream rap was like this,it’s so much better, deeper, expressive.
The wheel up/rewind/reload started in Jamaica music and was done by the DJ in response to the crowds reaction to enjoying the track...After WW2 a lot of people from the Caribbean came to the UK to help with the shortage of works obviously lost in the war...so the UK has been blessed with a lot of Caribbean culture....the wheel up/rewind/reload being one "So if you ain’t got a 2-1, or you ain’t 3-2, you gotta graduate before you pass Wretch" bar...2.1 is a University degree in the UK
