Great review !
I don't think I've ever bought anything Craftsman, but maybe there's fanbois who love them.
I have that knife I like it other than the safety feature.
cresent tools make a couple of awesome ball bearing pocket knifes.
I'm pretty curious of your take on the Tough Built Tradesman Knife, the folding Hawkbill and the insulation knife. I'm really really enjoying the Tradesman, but your experience would be great to know about the Hawkbill.
I own the craftsman razer knife or at least it looks the same, I remove the blade by folding the mechanism to a 45 deg angle then I can remove blade.
I absolutely hate the locking mechanism on the craftsman, trying to open it sometimes it's cramping on the hands.
I wedged something in the unlock button. ITS slot better know.
it is really a good knife i own one craftsman is a good brand so i think that they know how to make good knifes
The lock button is a very poor design
Why would anybody want a cheap Chinese knife designed and offered by a tool company who's expertise is not in knives ?
I no longer carry modern type knives, but even when I did I had no interest in the junk from Craftsman Dewalt Milwaukee Irwin Snapon...ect.
The only one I ever found to be worth a darn at all was the fastback hawkbill because it's more of a specialty knife than a regular general purpose folder.
They always have funky blade shapes, gimmicky features, hateful combo edges, they're always ugly, they're always very fat and bulky...ect.
I guess they're probably made for the kind of person who just wants a cheap knife that's " fast ", the kind of person who probably thinks thats a belt clip.
As a “real” knife collector and user, but also a trades person in HVAC i grappled with this as well. I carry the Milwaukee fastback drop point knife as my EDC at my job. Point being it’s easily replaceable if lost stolen or used as door stop etc (yes I used it as a door stop) . I had to obviously lower my expectations for steel quality and cut performance. However cheap soft steel equates to being able to “field” sharpen it on a variety of improvised materials.
@@hwh6237 I like an easy sharpen steel myself , but my issue is that theres just always something about the cheap imports designed and it 9ffered by tool companies.
The Milwaukee's seem to be about the best of the type, but dewalt is definitely the worst.
I understand the idea of a beater knife, but my personal choice would be the Classic " TL29 " pattern of electricians knife still made in the US by Utica and still offered by Klein.
Both mine are vintage Camillus though, and I no longer own a Klein / Utica example.
Hello again Doc
Thank you for another Great Video. I could always use another knife. But Craftsman tools I will have to think on. Again thank you
