    Enjoyed the update and summary of profits and losses. I’m surprised at how low some of the views were given how much I enjoy your presentation style and content. Glad you ultimately came out ahead and that your Son is OK. You could have been a couple Grand more to the positive if you had not given your Sons friend a deal on the Taurus. Interesting peek under sheets…thanks Chris!

    I have been watching you tube for a long time - you are the first one that I have seen that actually gave out your revenue from you tube. Basically, from what I know about you tube - the more subscribers you have the more you can get from you tube. I don't see you are sponsored by anyone like square space or Harbor Freight (which adds to your revenue). For a side hustle and your enjoyment of the cars you buy I'd say if you are breaking even then you are winning!

    I'd say you did okay. You didn't just flip the cars, you repaired them so they were safe and reliable so when they were sold to strangers, they got a good vehicle and you could sleep at night knowing that the new owners got a quality auto.

    I always love your content Chris. I'm glad your at least in the black on something you obviously love to do. The highest compliment I can give you is that if I lived near you and needed a affordable used car I would buy from you and know it was an honest deal.

      I subscribed to ECC b/c I liked your presentation at the auction and the giant STAMP of what the car sold for with X number of bids. I continued to watch your videos as you bought and fixed them up b/c I felt you were a straight shooter. Finally, like stratman 1966 says in his comment, I also would buy a vehicle from you and know it was a honest deal. That says a lot. I'm glad you are in the black financially doing something you enjoy but even better is when you have the respect of a number of viewers across the country.

    The UA-cam VIP rolling in the big money. Just teasing. I'm glad your son wasn't injured in the hit and run. I think everyone will appreciate you being upfront with the wins and losses. Obviously the full time YT'ers can make decent money from videos but it requires a lot of time and effort. For a hobbyist, it can be fun and like you said it helps to offset some of the cost. I enjoy these updates as I always wonder where did a particular car go to. Especially that Lincoln. Really liked that one...~Pat

    Really enjoyed the summary of the financial aspect of everything. I think your overall profit isn’t bad considering it’s a hobby for you. Most people spend money on hobbies and never get it back so I’d say you’re doing great. If you were running a business it wouldn’t be so great but if your hobby makes you happy and makes a little money here and there, you can’t complain with that.

    Thanks for the summary Chris. Glad you are at least coming out a little ahead. Would really like to see more in depth videos of your purchases, more garage talk videos, more road trip videos. Maybe watch and compare with some of the other popular channels and get some ideas from them. You get a lot of everyday cars that we all either have, had, or just enjoy from memories in the past. You could turn that into thousands of views and increase your channel presence. Regular Car Reviews is a good example. I hope you get back into a video groove. You've got your own unique, down to earth, natural style. You should capitalize on it and make more videos. Good luck!

    I suggest making a few more videos per car in future. Try one with a serious mien, describing what the car is really like to live with over time and an honest appraisal of quirks, downsides, and upsides. Try another of "hooligan" appeal, doing dumb things like donuts, a burnout, taking it to a local track to show what it's like at the limit. And do a final of, "I've had my fun but it's time to let it go," where you sincerely detail everything good and bad about that particular car before you offer it for sale. Your UA-cam revenue should increase substantially.

    Thanks for sharing, I have very similar interest in cars but have never had the space or money to invest in extra cars. UA-cam seems to be far ,more profitable than I thought it would be at your subscription level. What amazes me is the value of the old Dodge/Chrysler products. So many people frown on them but once you drive them they are enjoyable and inexpensive to run.

    2. Have Tyler fly in to town and do a collaboration video with you under the guise that he is your long lost son. You guys can talk about your "fleet of cars" and passion behind what you do. You could even do a "Freaky Friday" segment where the 2 of you switch bodies/voices.

    While you had a net profit, I think sometimes you overpay for cars. That Caprice is a perfect example. If youre doing it as a hobby, then youre doing fine. But one thing you didnt take into account is your overhead. You pay for a extra building now (for awhile now) that adds to your costs. If you have no revenue stream attached to that shop, youre way further in the red than you appear. I would figure your rent for the year divided by those 5 cars and see what your true cost was..

    • @grandtheftautotune7715
      @grandtheftautotune7715 Рік тому +1

      Even though I sounded critical, I just think you should look at the true cost of your (in your own words) hobby. I still love the content and videos, and the types of cars you go after. But when you started renting the building, you said it was because you needed the space, not to start a business,so I assume no money is made in renting it. So those 5 cars had a lot larger cost attached to them to store.At a low estimate of 500 bucks a month, thats 7200 bucks at least a year. Thats another 1440 bucks in costs per car..

  • @baldisaerodynamic9692
    @baldisaerodynamic9692 Рік тому +1

    its good you made profits. the only real shockers was what you paid for that caprice...i was like WTH that thing was wayyyy over priced in the original video. your worst loss overall was having to toss a motor in the olds. imagine if you didnt need a motor those numbers would have been better.
    considering its a hobby for you, you did well. the caprice was definitely an emotional purchase in my opinion. you were excited at the time, and went with it. usually you have a really clear head when you look at car prices, knowing values etc.

    Good video, very informative. Factor in the entertainment value/fun factor and I think you did well. With scratch off lottery tickets the loss is normally 50%.
