I thought that Ollie's gift of the urn was really sweet in a way. Yes it was dark, but at the same time you could see and hear in his voice that he put a lot of thought and heart into it. And the 오늘은 여기까지 I think is really fitting.
hmm. that's true. it really shocked me, because there's the urn and there's Josh alive looking at his actual grave, something he won't escape. so it was dark. but I think Ollie's acceptance of death is what makes different and change my perspective, and makes as you said, sweet.

Also, buying the urn from the mortician will be much, much more expensive, so it's actually quite clever to already have one before things get serious. (I am a mortician.)

@@nathilism People in general tend to be superstitious when it comes to their own death or that of a loved one, independently from the culture. But in a way I find the gift really touching because it really means "I'll be there until you die".

Man the moment I heard it I started ugly crying. I know it's supposed to be funny and shocking but you can't ignore the sentimental load. There is often a lot of thoughtfulness and emotion behind the apparently silly things that Ollie does/says.

I actually thought the urn was kinda beautiful. Not just aesthetically, but as a bond. It somewhat says "even after death, we are connected". And I think Ollie was kind of emotional when he talked about the phrase engraved. It obviously meant a lot.
Right? Sometimes i feel like Ollie allows himself to be actually vulnerable on camera and Josh is more reserved on that. Nothing wrong about it just an observation

It was a very thoughtful gift, and you can see he gave it from a place of caring and kindness. I don't think Josh realises how caring that actually was
Ollie is that rare human with the warmest soul and an incredible sense of humor and self-deprecation that makes his personality so authentic. The world needs millions more Ollie’s. Josh is definitely sometimes totally missing his depth and, I mean this with zero criticism, but ruins moments with ‘you are an idiot’ line. And, specially this video with ‘you are the king of the overthink’ line. I know he doesn’t mean it but that’s how Ollie expresses his love and obviously they get each other so def not judging. And, also, I’m watching this series in reverse so it is a totally different perspective but it definitely stands out for me. Again, watching in reverse, but the book (and the months of time put into it) almost felt under-appreciated. I cried during the video he made about creating it and just maybe that shapes my thoughts. And truly, Josh is wonderful so I don’t say it cruelly. It’s just maybe that sometimes he tries too hard/is in his head for how he should react vs just being him. And, I mean that as NO criticism bc most of us are like him! We just need to learn from the rare Ollie-like people in the world.
Note to add in after my 4th edit: they are truly different personalities and balance one another for sure. When Josh gifted Ollie the fridge that was his way of expressing love. That was a beyond generous gift and you could tell it meant so much to Ollie. And, let’s not kid, to all of us! They express love differently and that is what makes them so great. Will say I stand by the fact that I’m over the ‘you are an idiot’ line. It’s grating when watching in reverse. May be completely different when you watch it in the right order!!!! Love them both and so glad I stumbled on them and have spent the past 3 days hooked to their content. Just Ollie (and Rev Chris bc I truly have shared his videos like 100x for so many reasons) captures my heart and I just want to know more people like him.
Final note: watching in reverse I had NO CLUE Josh was the original star and would never have guessed Ollie was brought in to create an off-shoot. That is why my perspective is probably completely different!!!

I got teary eyed when Ollie gave the urn. You know, in life we have some friends who are all just happy and there when things are going great, but Ollie is there till the end. He thinks deeply of things Josh tells him and for me, that is friendship. You know like, sometimes when we talk of something we like just in passing but lo and behold, this friend remembers it and buys it or somehow finds it and says, "hey you remember one time we talked about this...", and for me that is just really amazing.

I teared up for that urn gift. Yes it was very shocking , but I also want to acknowledge what Ollie might felt when he was preparing for that gift. That catchphrase was not only Josh's, but it's theirs. So seeing those words engraved in an urn that was supposed to be for his bestfriend when the time comes, it must have been hard for him also.

When I saw the 오늘은 여기까지 on the urn I was about to die at how ACCURATE and funny (in a dark way) that was. I sincerely want to praise Ollie’s wit in this one 👏🏻 Also, preparing for funerals and stuff is expensive! (And it is part of life, we should have that more present)

No, guys. Let's be honest. That urn thing was rude. Even for the best friends. That was a pure shortage of thoughtfulness and was just too much. I know Ollie's a good man but that was a mistake and I am 100% sure that he must have regretted having done that. I feel sorry for being harsh but have to say the thing.
Ollies acceptance of death is one of my favourite things about him. It was an extremely sweet gift. The acceptance of death is shared among all philosophers between different cultures and is the one thing we all share so this was a really soul-touching thing to see from a youtube video :)

The urn wasnt a bad gift. Actually it may have been a better gift for his family. As someone who has had 3 close family deaths this year, arrangements are very expensive. Its like having to throw a wedding with only a few days notice. Thats one less thing his family will have to worry about. We dont often think about or plan for death until it comes and it makes the grieving process that much harder when you sudenly have to come up with thousands of dollars for funeral arrangements.

If someone as close to me as Ollie is to Josh, gifted me a cremation urn, I would probably get emotional but in a good way. I mean what a beautiful gift is that. Only someone who truly cares for you and loves you can gift you something like that without it being offensive

When Ollie was talking about the urn, his voice actually cracked. He said they're just joking but I think he's very sincere. I feel emotional cuz when you think about it, time will come when we are gonna leave this earth but Josh will have his eternal rest in the gift Ollie gave to him.

It's kinda sad because of course, you're dead and you will be leaving those you held most important in your life but on the other hand, that catchphrase is like, you're finally saying you did what you can, you did your bestest when you were alive. You're gonna die with no regrets and with satisfaction. Sad catchphrase to say when you meet the end but it leaves off a very positive vibe that you're happy you lived a fruitful and jolly life.

Honestly i really like that urn with "oneureun yeogikajji". It just feels right. I know it's weird, but it just feels right as the ending phrase for him. Always said that in the end of his video and feels like the most appropriate to say at the end of his life. It feels touching and full of reminiscence. If i'm Josh, I might cry when i receive that urn, not because of sad, but more of being touched. To most people death is morbid, but i think when you reach that juncture, you will start reminiscing of the past and all the memories that you have will make you feel like your life is a beautiful movie/video. I think there are so much emotions when the life wheel scenery start rolling fast at the end of your life and you will feel calm, you will feel content with it.. and "oneureun yeogikajji = that's it for today/now, just feels right.
I'm still sad about the Jolly mug. But Ollie gifting an urn to Josh made my day hahahaha

I thought it's one of those funny episodes but then there had to be an urn and death talk in there. It was a sincere yet morbid talk but was overturned by that nice gesture of finding Josh' favorite whiskey for him. By the end of the video, that line "that's all for today" engraved in the urn remained in my thought. It was so damn fitting. I'm glad Josh was able to see his urn and somehow I know that he sees through Ollie's funny personality and know that he's such a sincere friend. I love them so much I'm actually tearing up. What a lovely friendship

"That's all for today" on the side of it, while coming from your best friend, I think it's a pretty beautiful symbol of friendship honestly. You know, how Ollie isn't like trying to say "oh don't talk about death and whatnot" and just jumps into accepting that they're both going to die someday
