Also, ignore all the people talking about how enhanced graphics kill the map for competitive play. You are doing this to learn, it's not a valve map rework. This looks stunning and I would even love to play it for real, maybe more of a solo mission or just fun games with some friends. You're doing great.
I actually like the enhanced lighting a lot, do bring down the brightness but the textures look super realistic. Feels more like urban combat. The muzzle flash looked killer!
Already fixed the lightning, and I actually had to change the muzzle as it looked liked mini explosions; you can see the updated one in my new comparison video

The biggest thing for me was the gun almost appearing silver. I would recommend trying to make the gun way less reflective, since typically they aren’t made with shiny materials unlike specific examples like the Desert Eagle.
OP said they used the files from CSGO and imported them into UE. I am not entirely familiar what Source engine and specifically CSGO does with its PBR materials and textures, but I'm guessing there was some discrepancy between the roughness and metallic or any other texture maps that were used. Perhaps OP simply forgot to untick sRGB on the roughness textures.

I think the reason why I got it wrong was that I had heard something about Source using textures and materials more akin to PBR for the gun skins in CSGO. Though, I could be misremembering something.
Splashing some water on the floor just happens to be the easiest way to not make the floor feel like some backroom level. But ye, it does look very distracting and unnecessary busy when overdone, *cough cough, gta graphics mods*
Before reading below i want you to know that i could never do this and really like the attempt. Current dust2 has a distictive style. This feels like a standard asset flip unreal city lacking identity. Also; the motion blur was a big turn off too.
The whole thing looks like a tech demo that would feel like absolute shit to play unless the characters are glowing orange or something. These tech demo designers just focus on graphics and forget actual game design mechanics. Impressive nonetheless and something I can't do, but would be a shit competitive game if it looked like this.
Reading the description, this is very impressive and beyond my own abilities. Well done. That being said, It feels a bit like a beginner's mistake to crank up light bloom & lens flare when most people would turn those settings off to stay competitive. If Valve were to remaster CS:GO (Source 2 update?) I'm sure it will look much more similar to the OG graphics than this. Something feels off with the muzzle flash / smoke effect too. Don't be dissuade, you clearly have a knack for Unreal and I hope you make more things and continue to grow your abilities. Incredible first step.

Counter Strike was never about graphics, it always was about how satisfying was The gameplay and how good feels that one precise shot you make against someone. Csgo could never reach the same level of satisfaction of CS 1.6 but in its own way got close. This simulation looks exactly like COD and modern fps out there. Thats is not even close of bringing the same level of satisfaction of cs franchising.
looks great. but for gameplay its pretty bad. the sun is like a huge flashlight. the bloom from the sun is way over the top. the textures are really muddy and all blend together, just giving it a real messy asthetic. it would never be practical in a real game as there's too much visually going on. but for a campaign its not too bad. but a very nice unreal 5 concept.
I already adjusted the bloom after I got feedback. In addition I'll be adding over 6 variations for the map (weather / time variations), and I'll be completing the whole map

Agree to many feedbacks I’ve read like sun, shadows, etc, but I see you are taking feedbacks seriously, which is absolutely great! Too unclear vision and too many details might slow the game down and make it much slower move around map, clearing areas and fps as well(unless there is solution idk about). And yes, making vid, focus on gameplay, bcs we love csgo gameplay more than details and texture of the map. Got to be balanced so players can play both slow or quick plays, which is another aspect making csgo a thriller to watch and play. If shadows etc makes gameplay too slow than, there might be too risky to play quick, which will change the whole way we play the game we love throughout the time. As a variation even slower, more tactical than shooter like cs would be cool though. I would play it, if I would get a chance. Great job, man, but still polishing to do, reviewing feedbacks and rinse, repeat. :)
Theres a puddle on 45 deg ramp. The blinding light on cat and outside of double door long is too ct sided. Dust is middle east inspired map, this became look like EU to me. Quixel is very helpful, Great texture use btw even better if you add more displacement on those walls and imperfections on edges. Good work overall and great effort.
I agree, plus I like Counter-Strike the way it is. Keeping it simple allows for a bigger audience to play with each other for a long time. I like playing with people who drew the shorter stick, they add something to the game I can't explain.
I like the graphics, but the movement seems "locked" or "too real", the part I like the most in cs is the fluidity, in this style of the video, it reminds me of battlefield.
Beautiful and impressive, gotta say. As a cs:go player I would say this though: visibility isn't great, there are too much stuff laying around. It would be very difficult to spot an enemy immediately. Still an impressive work, love it.
It's so heartbreaking when game developers do nothing in cs and at the same time fans makes massively creative stuff. You should be employed in Valve as a map designer!! That is hell of a job man!
that's unfair. they have to think about the performances on their playerbase`s PCs. it's an awesome job and it certainly took a lot of time and effort to do so, but this is not the same when it comes to map design. he didn't design a map, he redone it on a platform that barely runs on his own computer. that's not criticism torwards the video creator, I'm just pointing some important facts.

The hardest part is to put in a gun, hands, and make your character move, that's it. You could make this map in a few hours (if you have assets). And stop with that "developers do nothing". Looks great, amazing vid. In my opinion, I wouldn’t be a big fan of CS if it started to look too realistic. Something about the choppiness in it is what pulls me in. Once the graphics start looking too realistic like COD, the feel of the game would be too different for me.

It's definitely one of the most interesting custom dust2 map I've seen . I do feel that 1. It doesn't look like a desert city in Afghanistan or whatever. And the textures feel more weird and out of place at particular places. 2. The muzzle flash and the shooting animations felt slow but that might die to a low engine render capacity. Anyways good work man.
Speciality of valve CSGO is its much clear props and graphics. Thus we can only focus on game, not minor details. This map seems to have lots of detailed props and surrounding.
Personally I think you did a great job with the map. The gun effects are a wip and I think should be made a little less reflective. Other than that 9/10 great job!

It's better not to change the texture looks like something bad. Leave the textures from csgo but make them of higher quality with many details.

It's definitely one of the most interesting custom dust2 map I've seen . I do feel that 1. It doesn't look like a desert city in Afghanistan or whatever. And the textures feel more weird and out of place at particular places. 2. The muzzle flash and the shooting animations felt slow but that might die to a low engine render capacity. Anyways good work man.
1. It was made with European style building, and I'll probably change it later

Speciality of valve CSGO is its much clear props and graphics. Thus we can only focus on game, not minor details. This map seems to have lots of detailed props and surrounding.
Yep, that's why Competitive isn't the goal, I just want to experience the same CS:GO mechanics but with insane environments
