40 years ago, played on Kustom amps, Fender and I settled for a peavy 400 with 2 speaker cabs with 4 12inch speakers in each one. I choose it for its clean tone and also used a fuzz and Wah peddle, I regret selling it to this day.
is the peavey 400 a PA? or a Bass Amp head? do you have the reference ? cheers
i have peavey series 400 set with cab speakers 4x12 im from Philippines 😊
I want to find out the difference between the musician, bass and the model I'm most interested in the centurion.
If you visit Peavey's website and look at the archived manuals in the Support section, you'll get a good idea of the differences among those three amps. To find the Centurion, instead of looking under C, look under M for Mark III Centurion.
I have both of these amps. They are all similar. The biggest differences in my opinion are the fuzz circuits and the fact that the Centurion has two channels that can be be blended together, which you probably already know. The Musician has more of a Kieth Richardsesque "Satisfaction" type of sound and the circuit in the Centurion is closer to a Century or an F800B. But not exactly the same. They are all pretty different sounding. It's basically an op-amp type circuit that borders on fuzz in it's later stages. They all sound equally killer with tube screamers, fuzz pedals and tube preamps and they are all fantastic pedal amps. Loud af too.
Is it the Peavey Musician 400 ?
lol i have this amp and the top plastic grille is broken in exactly the same place
When these Amps came out in the 70's it was amazing that it had 210 Watts Rms which was more than the Fender Twin that was 100. And, the Tone was decent
