Great video! Would be a good idea to try and bring the filter closer to the right side as it is drawing in warm air from the exhaust manifold meaning it will likely be loosing some power and lowering you fuel economy somewhat.
ill try my best, it has just been snowing and cold outside and with Christmas and new year made it hard to do it but ow I feel motivated by you guys :D
i got a simple new "sport" air filter without all the piping stuff. Sound is loud i dont know if im faster. I guess it is drawing hot air cause its just behind the engine. thx for the video, i'll try something like you
Good job, I have the same engine but on audi a3, also thinking about switching to cold air intake. You should make a box for the filter. And don´t you need to have plugged air sensor?
so its always good for the car to know wahts has been changed in it, specificly for fast cars, cus fast cars sucks in more air already with the stock filter, so if you ad a sport intake then they will suck in more air faster and probobly damamge something in the long run, but for a car like this, you dont, i had a VW golf 1,6 fsi, it already wassent even sucking so much air but im teeling you it made a big difference, so you dont actually need a to do anything with the softwere, cus majority of people actually dont play with the softwere when they change anything in the car like the intake or the exhust system, its actually more like optimizing the preformace then actually changing it so i dont think it needs to, but its always better if you can
@@carloveratoz thanks for the reply mate. Have the same car with same engine and want to change the intake but put a filter from the Ford Focus 2. Also thinking to remap it, it should make an even bigger difference
this engine have been running for 320000km without any problem, i owned it for like 8 months and was ripping it, putting it under stress with like me being 17th owner but it still aline at the 18th owner so its pretty relible
pls dont buy a car with the 1.6 fsi engine no matter which vag car it is. Those engines are known for having problems without and ending. Mine had 15 engine faults before i hit a deer and totaled it. I spent so many weeks fixing the chain, exhaust, high pressure fuel pump parts, all kinds of sensors. I could go on but then i would be writing a paragraph. All im saying is, dont buy it.
These engines are reliable! I have the same engine in my Golf MK5 and i have never had any problems with it. My grandfather bought this car that i have new in 2004 and it has never been any problems with the engine at all. Just regular maintenance that you have to do all types of engines no matter what car you have.
@@julianwedel1521It all depends on how the engine has been serviced and maintained. It has never been any problems with the 1,6 FSI engine in my Golf MK5 and my car has been in my family since it was new in 2004 so i know the story about how it's maintained.
Broo, never install a sport air filter near the engine. the filter must draw cold air from the outside, not warm air from the engine, never do this nonsense again. it must always draw cold air from the outside so that the engine can breathe well as well like a man if you put it next to the engine at a hot temperature it never works properly so you know

Carry on with more mods, I have subscribed and will wait for next video !

yes, im going to saw off the air sensor from the old intake and put it in the new one, thanks for support, I love it XD
@@carloveratoz did you have any issues when you didn’t put the sensor back on?
got same engine, new air filter (shortram), I want to do the same thing, boost as much as it can.
What about the sensors!!! Maf and the other little cable!😢
Hot Air Intake
Bro we need new videos abt this car I bought this car today and I am looking to tune it I need Inspiration!!
hi, do you think you need a software setting after installing this intake?

Is it a reliable engine?

@julianwedel1521 Having worked on a 1.6FSI BLF, can confirm. Walk away, find something else!

Thats not a cold air intake 😅
