This design was on UA-cam a few times and I like it. There need to install motor speed regulator for better thermochanging. Also, there need to pay an attentions on safety.
I would love to see some update videos on this and find out how it’s been working how it held up any changes you’ve made any weak points etc. etc. very good video my friend
Paul, would using CANOLA OIL stop the black soot that is produced ??? I can get the oil here on the other side of the pond for about 6 bucks a gallon Sir. Peanut oil is seven dollars a gallon. Hope you get over the cold or flu you have Sir. Peace vf
Nice diy heater. We have to do whatever we can these days to get by with high fuel costs. I think some of the greatest ideas will come from people just using what they have around them to survive.
Hi Thanks - Yes its a joke the price of gas & electric..Theres some really good ideas on UA-cam ive been watching lots....Thanks for commenting & watching
Humidity Plays a big part in the winter. A lower humidity will help and it keep you from getting mold which could be worse for you in the long run. You might try lowering the speed of the fan. I think you did a wonderful job.
I really like this concept! I would like to fabricate declarative versions of this heater for my small 1000sq ft home, but hesitant a for a few reasons. Im very confident I could make these units extremely safe, much safer than other indoor heat sources. My issue are. Why are these heaters being vented to the outdoors? There should be no concern for deadly fumes in my home, I believe so anyway? Isn’t this is throwing away heat? Secondly, I live in Massachusetts. And that being said I own my home outright in this state. What’s used to make these heaters are used widely used in everyone’s home everyday. Just the same I have a feeling Massachusetts's will not allow these concepts. And will use this heat source responsible for tornado damage! Sounds crazy, but I live in Massachusetts. I own a mini split System I use daily, set at about 63 degrees. I pay about a $300 electric bill monthly in winter. I use my oil furnace at night. Looking for alternatives. Thank for listening. Bill
Hi - Burning fuels can produce C0 & C02 (both deadly) this is why they are vented to the outside..I dont use DIY cooking oil candles now for that reason - They smell & are very messy !! I now use tealights - much safer & cleaner & doesnt need venting - Check out this years candle heater playlist here - ua-cam.com/play/PLk3LTrx8BFg9V604b4F4gVTobMio0z67v.html Thanks for watching & commenting
I think another tin can on the right hand side then fit the fan to that might be a Good idea, it would help to keep the little fan cooler, it's quite close to the side of the stove and especially if it stops working could cause issues. Better safe than sorry. This design has been floating about UA-cam more and more these days but built out of ammo boxes, I think it would work great in a small campervan. Cheers for showing us your version paul 👍
Hi - It did have a tin on the side between the fan & stove but it kept falling off BUT I was thinking of ideas of how to hold it on so will be trying that today - Yes it would be great in a campervan - Thanks for watching & commenting
Hi - Ive fitted a tin on the side of the stove & put the fan on the end but the weight of the fan kept pulling it off !! So i put a wire on holding it up...Thanks for watching my vids 👍
@@paulleeFLOW That's great Paul that you got it sorted. A thinner pea can fitted between the two larger tins would prob work too, like an inside sleeve, halfway up each pipe. Your videos are enjoyable to watch 👍
@@paulleeFLOW Hi Paul, I have been playing around with different types of heating and I have come across a way of improving your set a piece of carbon felt as a wick which lasts a very long time.
Hi - yeah i know somebody said thin the cooking oil down with paraffin 1 to 10 but i dont want to use anything that would poison my dog as she keeps licking the cooking oil up if i spill drops...Cheers
Just subscribed to see how this goes .be interesting to find out how much it costs to run the fan. How about getting or making a heat sink fan like you put on a woodburner ? That would be free energy.
Hi Mark Thanks for subscribing 👍Ive done another video after this one & mention the fan is connected to a solar power battery & panels - 100w overkill but i have plans for the solar set up...Thanks for watching & ive looked at heat sink fans 👍
If you use carbon fiber paper as your wick, it won't let off all that soot and carbon dioxide. I can't remember why, it's from a guy's UA-cam channel about 8 months ago maybe, Robert Murray Smith is his name, he's really smart.
Hi - I actually bought a carbon fibre sheet & it didnt work well in the cooking oil candles - i tried lots of different methods & Robert M S uses it in a round heater with the sheet forming a wick in a big piece which circles inside the round heater - Ive seen the video ages back - i tried it - it didnt work - I now make my own maxi tealight candles & its works brilliant & as i promised there will be NEW heater videos this month - Thanks
Thats a bummer.. I wonder why? He doesn't appear to be using camera tricks or putting fake info out. He was so excited when he shared that after they'd discovered it. I found yesterday, a whole range of results when searching carbon fiber paper, may I ask which type you've tried so that I can maybe try to achieve different results? Also, I haven't found your video on the building of your heater, what kind of glass and gasket did you use for the front? Have you found the tin cans and aluminum foil to have a short life as the heat conduit channels if possibly compared to something thicker or a denser metal?
Hi i now run it off DIY maxi tealight candles its a cleaner process & this is a year later & still only pay my standing charge on the gas meter - Thanks

I'm not sure what you said but I enjoyed watching the construction. Looks to me like it will work well. I think I might build one.
Cool, thanks

You should try using some oil lamps. Looks like 3 mason jars would fit nicely

Good idea candle heater you should make 2 for each end of the room see what temp goes up too
Hi - I was thinking of making a few more when get this design right - Cheers for watching
I moved to Serbia and my heating is ~$25 USD per month and comes from a central boiler on gas in the building.
Hi - WOW thats cheap !!! Thanks for watching
The glass jars are absorbing the heat tea light is better

Beeswax does not give off soot if that helps
Hi i didnt know that thanks ill look into it ie making diy candles but with beeswax - Thanks

The trouble with cooking oil, is it only wicks up two inches. You'll need to keep those jars topped off. Try kerosene if you can find it.

Is this a system that you could benefit from?
