Nice review as always. And you inadvertently dug up the painful memory of my one trip to NY as a kid and the dinosaur wing at the AMNH was closed for said remodel. I only got to see the epic Barosaurus mount in the lobby, which was a nice consolation prize at least 😅
My memory of seeing the old hall was semi painful. The Jurassic hall was closed for the renovation. So bummed I didn’t get to see my boy apatosaurus. But at least the Cretaceous hall was open and glad I got to see the old rex mount. And on top of that the barosaurus mount was scheduled to open a month later lol.
Terrific review on the new Doyle the Triceratops! I love everything about this figure, the paint, the sculpt and the fine details. Of course… it could be better when it comes to the paint job but thats nothing to be expected. I also love the pose on this figure, in my novel I’m writing, in the hell creek chapter a mother triceratops is protecting her babies by putting them in a cave and she uses her big frill and horns to protect them. I get the inspirations by the poses of the figures. And tbh i don’t know why people hate bland paint jobs on figures, it makes sense to me that a more big animal would have a more bland color scheme other than most small animals that have more vibrant color schemes, like modern day hippos, rhinos and elephants, and of course giraffes have very vibrant colors but not enough to stand out big time. The cheekless ceratopsian reconstruction honestly doesn’t make sense to me but I can let that slide. She goes good on my shelf and is definitely on the favorites!
I totally agree large animals probably weren’t colorful. I’m just a sucker for bright dinosaurs lol. I’m really loving poses next to Wilson. It’s like having a mini accurate AMNH display on your shelf.
@@DinoScreamReviews lol I’m a sucker for colorful sauropods XD they just look so cool with vibrant colors, I currently dont have them both wilson and doyle displayed on the shelf but maybe sometime if i reorganize my collection i will display them together! I currently have Wilson attacking the old small safari edmontosaurus
I was thinking about getting this bc I think the exaggerated horns and speculative mouth are kinda cool and it could go with my 1/35 BotM rex when it arrives, but it's nearly $80 CAN on aliexpress and I can't justify spending that lmao
Your absolutely right when I saw the design that AMNH triceratops looks like a hybrid between a torosaurus and triceratops. And then it has the no cheek look going on.
It looks like an old rendition of a Triceratops-- that is, like something Ray Harryhausen would use to animate; that said, imagine dino figures with seamless articulation along with this amount of detail...
This was one of my most anticipated figures from PNSO, and the sculpt is truly something to behold. I won’t lie though, I was really disappointed by the final paint job because it loses a lot of its color from the release images. I always thought that the AMNH specimen looked odd too, but I think that’s because of how the skull was restored back in the day.
Mine FINALLY arrived today! She is a beauty who for almost 3 months battled through customs hell and triumphed in a sea of underpayed USPS employee blood. And she has a bony head 😊
@@DinoScreamReviews It was frustrating getting all the new figures before her and not having it in hand. But seeing her next to Wilson, sede and Austin makes me elated.
Ive seen other reviews and im surprised this thing actually has an articulated jaw! And i cannot wait for that centrosaurus with how good it looks (i also have wilson the big chonker and i think he would look great with wilson)
That's why i rare to buy the scientific accurate version of Dinosaur 🙁 because for made the Dinosaur figure in scientific accurate version must be followed the structure of real specimen but for the Dinosaur in science fiction version, we do not need to followed what real specimen should be look like, we just need to created our own version of Dinosaur what we love 😁. So, i love Dinosaur in science fiction version more than Dinosaur in scientific accurate version, Dino Scream 😄! Like we know, different person must be have different taste ☺️. So, respect my opinion, Dino Scream 😃. Happy New Year from Malaysia 🇲🇾, Dino Scream 😊!
So in short : It's great, but not "$60" great. As of now, I think the Eofauna one is the one that hits the sweet spot of quality and affordability. It's half the price of this thing and still scientifically rigorous, plus with a more interesting color scheme. My problem of course, is whether to get that one or the upcoming Diplodocus.....
Pnso could justify better the price with a natural base that give more presence to the figure and could hold the skull. Nice, not so much material and definetely much useful than 24 posters
Man, I really wanted to love this-the early promos had me jazzed. But ugh, hard pass. The massive jaw articulation and ugly paint would require rectifying-and coupled with the initial cost of the piece it’s simply not worth it. You’d think PNSO would present a better version of such an iconic dinosaur.
@Joel WW not for me it isn’t. I can’t imagine a reasonable scenario where I’d plunk down money on this figure. Looks like something from a 1960’s Hannah Barbara cartoon. Not my thing.
@@DinoScreamReviews a non articulating jaw and better paint apps would help. The package in it’s entirety is very disappointing. Bummer PNSO fumbled on such an iconic genus. The Centrosaurus looks like a winner, though. Crossing my fingers.
The paint scheme and the head are massively off putting for me, the horns being so long and no cheecks as well as the dull paint job don't justify it for me

I must say this figure is pretty good and I love this review

Looks great! If only it weren't part of the museum line.
Yeah the $60 price point is killing me.
If this was like 30-40 bucks I would definitely get it, but the price really kills it for me
I keep complaining about the price but yet I keep buying lol. But yeah the $60 is getting old real fast.
Love this triceratops goes perfectly with rebors retro T-Rex valley
Definitely want this beautiful Triceratops. I bought 2 Rebor Triceratops babies so now we have a Mum.
Speaking of rebor….where’s our King Trident lol
@@DinoScreamReviews he left the babies and ran off with Caroline the Corythosaurus.
This was a great review and I love it

AliExpress is having a winter sale in just over a day. Should be cheaper durning that sales period.
I'm displaying mine's as a Torosaurus. It's skull morphology is much more consistent with Toro compared to Trike.
I'm glad my dad has prime but I'm only getting Jw Mattel figures for now since I'm finally going to start making money.
Im getting my first pnso tomorrow mungo the merxas is arriving tomorrow!

It reminds me of the old Charles Knight painting.

Scales from the back of Trike's frill exist

Holy crap!!! Still not as bad as Caroline taking almost 5 months to reach me. Still can’t “stand” her lol

@@DinoScreamReviews as t rex and triceratops should!
Mine is unfortunately still in customs Limbo 😓
😢 hope you get it soon

I agree. Eofauna trike is the perfect balance of accuracy and price. Think their diplodocus is supposed to ship this month.
Looks good but would be better if they got the paint job to look like what it is on the box.
His head sculpt and skull shape is more look like torosaurus than triceratops
I personally reccomend Everything dinosaur to buy it from, this is just my opinion though but it seems cheaper than amazon.

Mainly got it to display with Wilson and I’ve seen that mount many times so it brings back good memories. But still a weird ass figure.

Like you said, I don't care for the head of this figure either & won't feel bad passing on it. Thanks for the review
Can you let me scan

Frankly in terms of ScIeNtIfIc AcCuRaCy, I prefer challenging what a dinosaur is and what it should look.
솔직히 비싼거와 뿔이 너무길고 도색이 성의없는게 마음에 안들지만 샀다
I just can’t get around the horns. Or a lot of PNSO stuff.
