- Video 35 - My friend planned a surprise trip to Maheshwar & arranged to stay in Ahilya Fort. This fort is owned & run by Holkar Family. I took a flight from Delhi to Indore. I booked my flight from MakeMyTrip for Rs 7000. I met my friend in Indore she planned the whole trip from Indore to Maheshwar by road. We booked our stay in the Ahilya fort situated on the river Narmada & a 2-hour drive from Indore. This vlog series will show my encounter with the living King Richard Holkar of Ahilya Fort. He shares some interesting facts about the Ahilya fort.
We paid Rs 22,000 for 3 people including tax. It also included 3 meals, one gala night, and a massage for all 3 of us. We got our booking directly from the Fort as they limited inventory. The best season to visit is winter so one can enjoy boating the river alongside the fort.

महाराजा यशवंतराव द्वितीय की एक पत्नी अमेरिकन थी उनकी संतान है Richard उर्फ महाराजा शिवाजीराव होलकर..माता अमेरिकन होने के कारण English अच्छी है मगर महाराजा से आप बात करके देखो क्या शालिन और जबरदस्त व्यक्तीमत्व है..मुझे अच्छा लगा

This place is known to us. My husband Ravindra Gundu Rao. From Mysore restored this place from 1997 to till now work has been going on. We our team RGRA that is RavigunduRao and Associates were involved in restoration of the place. Richard and family are like our own family.

I went there. It's awesome and gives a different feeling sitting at the bank of Maa Narmada and fort. I have visited many forts but eternal peace is here.

Hey Girl, (sorry, I don't know your name as you didn't introduce yourself) really good video. Although you have to make a major correction here, Mr. Richard Holkar isn't the king, he is the prince of Holkar dynasty, the current titular Ruler of holkar dynasty and Indore is, his step elder sister i.e. Queen / Maharani Usharaje Holkar, who lives in Mumbai now. Good work. :)
Shrimant Bhushan Singh Holkar said that Princess Usha Raje shouldn’t be mistaken as Maharani as she is the princess of this dynasty and as youu said if richard is prince than his step sister would obviously be princess and not maharani
@@garimasingh6099 Nope. That's what is wrong with Indian society, the daughter should automatically be dismissed of being the potential Maharani. Holkars were not overly patriarchal in their rule, they were quite progressive. When the last maharaja of Indore, Maharaja Yashwant Rao Holkar left the throne, after independence, Rajyabhishek was done to his eldest daughter (then Princess) Usharaje, she is the queen(only by tittle ofcourse) of Holkar dynast now. The ceremony was done at Rajwada palace Indore, in the presence of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the then Home minister. I am just hereby humbly correcting the fact and don't intend to prove you wrong. I hope you will take it positively. Thanks.

@@beingtogether Thank you for your polite reply. 🙏 I just wanted to highlight Holkars' 'way ahead of time' forward thinking and progressive attitude, this is just one of the examples of that, if you go in a little detail of their golden history, one would be really impressed by their morals, legacy of Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar, charities all around India, the technological advancement they brought in during their rule (like Banks, Airport, Stock market and hospitals etc) and even contributed in 2 very important entertainment field in India, i.e. Indian cinema and Cricket. India is full of royal families beating their own trumpet and being indulged in luxuries on people's taxes, while Holkar family remained very humble in their life style and less talked about, while making big contributions.

Every thing was royal but really sad to know the name of the king..Richard...Malhar rao holkar Ahilyabaee k vanshaj aur ab half english ..He even did not tell about matoshree no respect at all.
His name is Shivajirao Holkar but her mother was calling him Richard..Maharaja Yashwantrao Holkar II had one american wife hence he talk in English..Maharaja Richard is amazing person even his son..he is very knowledgeable king I ever seen in my life

Mr Dogra his name is official Yeshwantrao Holkar but is known by his English name.if you read a bit of holkar history you would know.

Pl stop using loud music. It is noisy
Saw your blog first because of it’s came as recommendation and title of blog attracted me. I was disappointed after seeing it, not because of content but due to technical issues.
A) background music is too loud, it’s hammering any one mind.
B) Camera quality is too poor. I guess, you may have used phone with wide angle cameras which generally convert overall picture in a round frames which looks very bad in a big tv. You yourself please watch the quality before publishing it to viewers. You may realized there are something offbeat. Please change your equipments.
