Macca is still getting a lot of attention now, because of how well shes done in this tournament. I am so proud of the girls regardless of what happens and will always support them. Go Tillies go bring home the bronze tomorrow! I WILL BE THERE WATCHING WITH A LARGE BANNER FOR MACCA!
I'm not Australian, but I've followed how Australian sporting bodies develop its grass roots for many years. The story is one of committed long-term support from very early ages and the results are there for all to see. This support importantly doesn't mollycoddle the participants, yet instills in everyone a healthy competitive streak that also bonds the players, coaches and sponsors. I'm fully behind the women's football team and hope they win through to the final.
I went to one of the Matilda's games in France in 2019 at Valencienne vs Italy. The team I see watching on screen in Italy playing each of their games in this tournament is head and shoulders above the Matildas of 4 years ago. There is the professionalism, fitness, team culture, friendships, and skills of the highest order. And that is why they are playing in a World Cup semi-final. Yes, the big home crowds are impressive, but for me, most impressive is that this team has arrived bringing women's soccer to the highest level of elite sport. There certainly is something going on with Australian women's sport at the international elite level - in this sport [possibly the highest achievement] and in track and field, cricket, netball [a smaller pool], certainly swimming, cycling, and basketball! And I proudly support this team. Go Matildas!!
Tony , can you coach . Yes you can. Thankyou. I see an awesome leader. Bringing a group together. Nothing makes me more proud to be aussie than now. Go win . Or lose. Does not matter to me. Just be as amazing as you guys are . Good luck against the Brits. Ashes all over again.
She is a cheat...she deliberatly encroached during the penalty shootout. First time the French girl scored so the officials did nothing. She blatantly does it again on the next kick but because the French girl misses she is penalised forcing the French girl to have to retake under the massive pressure. Cynical sportsmanship at its very worse.Same old Aussies, win AT ALL COSTS. Mo honour no morals. Not in the spirit of the game.
I’m proud of these girls regardless of whether they win or not. You have made your country and us so proud of what you have all achieved. GO TILLIES! 💚💛
Mackenzie exudes confidence from in her responses and she believes in what she does in the matches. She has definitively come a long way and worked hard and put on some incredible performance in this Women's FIFA World Cup 2023. Consequently, this match England vs Australia will be a nail biting contest. Pushing the rivals aside, it will an epic encounter. 👌🏽
The English press are desperate for sound bites about the AUS-ENG rivalry but the reality is that it hasn't been a thing in women's football. Macca doesn't get distracted by these questions and just says it how it is - indeed they'd all be psyched for whoever they're playing in the semis.
England have always had issues about the trash they transported to Australia building a rich country and created an ideal lifestyle.Consequently, the desire to beat the Aussies always places unnecessary pressure on their sporting representatives
Haha! Yes, how dare those convict descendants make a good life for themselves in those distant, warm antipodes. We'll show them who rules the Commonwealth :) I grew up in Sydney but lived in London for half a decade - both are great in their own way (though I definitely felt poor in London!). Should be a great match!
He's up there as one of Australia's best ever goal keepers. Mackenzie (our women's keeper) could make history with this team. So it's sentimental. @@Lahfo
USA, Germany & Sweden are in the top 3 and where are they now? 😂 The Socceroos for all their funding are not even in the Top 20 so the Matildas are doing amazing!!
Ranking are important however I believe the countries which are considered power houses also seem to be going through a turnover and change into their next generation. Cycles are important to consider is my perspective :)
Its a great achievement but its not comparable to the mens WC. Its a bit overhyped! If we win the cup they'll carry on like its Australia's greatest sporting achievement There's a reason why the prize money is only 25% of the mens and its called revenue! 🤔
Your jealousy is showing. This is an incredible feat for women’s sport and here you are crying about men lol news flash. Nobody is comparing it to men’s sport except you.
@@hannahs4779Jealous? Ok. Women in sport are always comparing and moaning about not being paid enough or as much as the men. They are actually paid very well when you consider the revenue they produce! They get paid the same as men in tennis majors yet only play best of 3 sets. You want equality but what's fair about that?🤔
Australia are too over confident and that will be their down fall. Every video I had seen and all I hear is “ Australia are World Champions “. Well your team will lose tomorrow end of
I don’t see the Matildas acting over confident, they’re just focused on each game at a time just as Mackenzie said in the clip. You’re maybe not watching clips from a variety of sources. From what I’ve seen, most speculated that we wouldn’t get past the Quarter-finals.
Love how she brushed the question on rivalry off. Exactly the right attitude to have, focus on one game at a time! Go Matildas!!!
Im proud of you. Australia is proud of you. Go Tillies!
I liked the semi dismissive tone of Makenzie's last reply. She means business.
i liked it too cos it amounted to fk all...

Win or lose tomorrow the Matildas have done us Australians proud. I only hope there is as much love shown if the Poms beat us.
