- Latest investigation exposing appalling cruelty to thousands of fish crammed into crowded, filthy, concrete tanks. Slaughter is inhumane and fish were seen crushed, suffocated, gutted and even packed alive.
Urge the Commission to release the proposals with species-specific legislation for fish.

Inhuman Cruelty.
The pain and agony they go through is incomprehensible. It should never be allowed it is inhumane,unethical and barbaric.
Fishes are individual social creatures. They remember, they have social bonds and hierarchy, they recognize others. This outdated view that they are 'things' is so outdated with science and our responsibility as stewards of this planet. THIS.MUST.CHANGE.
Open salmon farming is being exported to poorer countries as an 'innovative solution' that perpetuates this myth; fishing on the high seas ranges from live shark finning to dumping up to 50% of creatures back in the ocean dead or dying because they are not a 'targeted' species. Due to overfishing - fuelled by unsustainable subsidies and bad fishing practices (bottom trawling, purse seine, electrocution) collateral damage is far far too common. Transparency and accountability are vital
