He's not underrated. He's just not as commercially successful as he deserves to be.

THIS song ALONE proves without a doubt WHY 1999 is STILL a part of the Golden Era of Hip-Hop!!!
Agree. 1999 was special with the return of Dr. Dre with his classic '2001' album while an young and hungry Eminem broke out with his amazing Slim Shady LP album. Cash Money, Rocafella, Ruff Ryders, Aftermath, Murda Inc, Bad Boy, Rawkus and No Limit were the hottest rap labels while Nas and Mobb Deep ran QB and Mos, Pharoahe, Roots and MF Doom brought heats.
I was blasting everything Rawkus put out. I first started DJing in 1999 so I’ve got tons of great stuff on vinyl from back then.
97 98 99 best years of hip-hop! Nothing cant come close to those three years
NO 96 is the golden year of Hiphop

I met Mos in Central Park where they skate to old disco beats. He told me not to even grab my girlfriend. He wanted to hang, he had a guitar and I continued dancing like he was just any other brother vibing. The beats were pumping as we were quenched by a sweet late summer wind. His friends came to get him they were speaking Brooklynese because I think he thought he'd start a autograph rush. I don't do that. If I meet a celeb, I keep that to myself.
