- The road to a World Championship title is never easy. For the LPL, that road has led them to back-to-back Worlds Finals losses in 2013 and 2014, followed by a three-year drought without a Finals appearance. Now, at Worlds 2018, the region finds itself back in the Finals once again, as the LPL’s Invictus Gaming takes on EU LCS champions Fnatic in Incheon, South Korea. Led by Rookie, a Korean mid laner who left home to join the LPL four years ago, Invictus Gaming looks to crown the LPL’s most dominant year ever with the title they have chased for so long: World Champions.

As a LPL viewer since Season 3, I feel so greatful that iG finally got something, especially Rookie.
He's been playing so well for years, but since iG didn't won a single LPL title yet there's no much people know who's Rookie outside China. This year, the world finally heard his story, and also iG's story.

So it kinda was a 50/50, but tbh I don't think IG showed their full strength in groups. So I knew they would win if Ning and bot lane stepped it up.

LPL won the grand slam this year,not just the world champion
IG demonstrated such a mindblowing level of play that i was dumbfounded just looking at them. They were truly invincible during that final. All LPL's ferocity and lust for combat condensed into 5 players, marvelous perfomance :)

If you needed to know one thing about how dominant iG was in semifinals and finals, it should be that in the first patch after 2018 Worlds, Riot added shutdown gold if someone had too much of a cs advantage in lane 🤣

What I loved most about this is how close of a team IG seem to be, and man did they deserve their win.
Something to be said about Fnatic's mental state. Look at their faces after game 1 and then game 2, they look crushed and shocked. Not sure what were they thinking, but you can't fight back with that kind of mentality. You got to shake it off and reset to have a chance to reverse games.
Polystyle Shaping Based on their interviews, they thought it would be a 3-0 or 3-1 cakewalk. They didn't consider that IG leveled up from their bad performances during group stage. Youngbuck before the series said there's no way they lose game 1. Rekkles said EDG felt stronger than IG. They didn't expect their opponents to improve and adapt, total disrespect.

I love how the coach let the players decide what they wanted to play. Like the coach was so open with ning on what he wanted to play and instead of the coach do the running of the teamp comp he let them pick their comfort picks and adjust their line ups.

FNC Youngcuck spends too much time at the gym and too less taking care of the team.
They spent way more time focusing on how to counter solo lanes but Ning actually affect their draft significantly. They cannot find a way to control the jg lane and thus cannot give bot lane chance to roll the game

I see a lot of IG fans here. As a Fnatic fan, i don't like how Fnatic played those 3 games. For years, Fnatic was a Europian team who was known for being slaughtered every quarterfinals or during group stage. But just when they got to finals after 7 years, they got cocky, and their cockiness and overconfidence was the main reason why they lost (IG was better too). I knew that this is gonna happen since last year because of people like Caps, Bwipo and Rekkles. I don't blame them, but they showed up at Worlds as the most disrespectful guys. (posts on Insta which were deleted after their loss lol).
