Those AP Racing calipers are so much better than the standard ones! My standard brakes are like having a built in speed limiter, as I don't trust them at high speed (how the delivery driver drove my car all the way from london to Cov with both calipers seized I'll never know!) - my son's TF had the bigger brakes and they were great.
Great review, especially as I know nothing about the MGTF, similar design to the MR2 & Fiat X19, but with soft top. Great courtesy lights in the rear view mirror & even a leather arm rest ! I own a MX5 mk1 & went to a talk by Tom Metano , Ex Mazda North America chief designer, they had a heck of a job convincing Mazda to produce the MX5, not a great appetite for affordable soft top sports cars at that time. International Automotive Design Worthing, built the concept cars for Mazda.
I'm still kicking myself that I didn't buy a 160 a couple of years ago - a work colleague had one sat on a drive in almost pristine condition, with low mileage but never used it and offered it me for £800...
@@beardsandbangers Yeah, the market usually waits till I buy a car before dropping the prices (as with my TF), although my son also seems to affect things, and he's just bought a ZS 180 for POL so guessing he has to lose money on that one now too - sorry everyone ;)
Lovely car, so is the soft top tucked away behind the seat under the hard top? You, Simon and Boaty have definitely sparked my interest in one. But I know I won't get change out of 10k pounds down here..
That's it! Plus a tonneau cover as well. I bought this for me and not as a project. They are going up in price here now and I am not surprised that are £10k in Aus!
@@beardsandbangers mine has been outside all winter with the soft top on, it has survived surprisingly well (I keep adding repellent to the roof), a couple of mouldy episodes where condensation built up, but all good at present - sadly my hardtop leaks more than the soft top, hence leaving it off...
Really tidy example! Congratulations ☺️👌
Thank you! 😃
Another good video 🚗🚙🚘👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you as always Jimmy!
Check out you with all the facts! Well played!
Cheers Simon/Norm
@@beardsandbangers lol. Norm. 😂
9:38 - Oh! BIG brakes!
My research didn't lead me that far!
@@beardsandbangers Well, they look fab, but do limit wheel choices. Not that it matters as yours are the best ones anyway. Lol

Interesting that Mazda had the same reticence as Rover Group! Thanks for your insightful and thoughtful comments as always.
@@beardsandbangers Thankyou for your video’s, see you at POL

Doh! Try finding one for that money now. It will be interesting to see what the prices of modern classics do with the predicted car price drop!

Lovely. Best of luck with it. Does it have a Garage to sleep 🛏️🛐🛏️ in?
Sadly not! Hence buying one with a hard top! I will be looking for a barn or lock-up soon though!
