Bacterial vaginitis is also a thing if someone has atrophy from hormone problems or menopause, that can cause the smell and pain. which betadine douching can help eliminate infections.
If you don't have BV or another infection, shouldn't be putting scented things, douching etc. It is meant to self clean. Menopause; shut atrophy ting down ovaries can cause lack of self cleaning. Friendly advice and info from a trans man with vaginal atrophy due to testosterone
