Truely touched brother the way our good Lord led you graciously until He answered your question in an awesome way. Yes it is... May our good Lord speak to us in His own way and make us realize to know His will and obey it with love. The old way, though seems to be more powerful yet brought no realization in us because of our stiff-necked and hardened heart. How lovely of God He hasn't removed His voice from the Holy Bible. He has let us know that He is a great doer than a talker even His silence also speaks in this day and age. Praise God for Holy Spirit.
My brother and i had this doubt when we were young. And he asked this doubt to one pastor so as to why God doesn't speak to us. That pastor beautifully taught us the truth. He taught us that all that God needs to tell us, He has written it all in the Bible and that He will not speak to us about anything that is not written in His Book.
