I got exposed to asbestos because of cleaning whats left from burned house that had asbestos based slating roof yesterday. What should I do to prevent future lung illness? I din't wear any protective breathing. Also I will have to cut grass around the house. There were many coin size peaces of slating /shist, I picked them from the grass as much as I could see, some are smaller. Is it safe to cut the grass with mower? Or should I wear breathing protection, and what kind? Eye protection?

@tesspire7760 4 hours maybe. It was outside. Also I was trying to hold my breath while obvious dusty job was going on. Then breath in somewhere else and then come back to dusty place to continue working while holding breath. I tried to avoid breathing as much as possible. I wore face mask simple one, gloves. When I took off, there were still lines of dust near my nose. So this mask obviously cant protect from asbestos (simple cloth). But its as if you breath in closed space protected from inside. I tried to breath in small amounts, not full lungs. You breath your own air plus minus. Maybe it protected me a little bit. I was coughing after that and spit of everything, couple of days. Now I am fine. No problems.

shocking
