I think you should give it the full Kazz angle treatment then the full maxpeeding rods treatment then top it off with some TSG goodies then sell it or give it away. I’d like to do the same for my e46 so I’ll just copy what you do!
First strip it down to a bare shell. You could fit overfenders/clamshell for the rear quarters that wil go over that damaged pillar. Engine wise if you're giving it away stick an m54b30 in there but if you're keeping at and want to do something different stick an M60/62 V8 in there. Can be a road car, drift car, drag car, options are endless.

ULTIMATE CHEAP DRIFT MISSILE! Turbo it! We have talked on PM, when I was asking about m43 E36 sedan which was driving with you at some events. I have already turboed my 1.6 compact - fun as hell. Use here k04-015 msr turbo. 'tuning' it just with bigger injectors and changing tension on MAF will give you for sure some audience too :) I would seriously send you an m43 self-welded turbo manifold, cause I made 2 for my build, but damn you are living on other side of the world 😅
Damn that thing is BEAT, you must of paid so little. I'd definitely strip it out and make a track car because there is no saving 90% of that interior and BMW interiors are expensive.
I keep up a 318i for 500 with registered and rwc in Bendigo nothing wrong with 5 speed manual I’m going to drop a 5.7lt and maybe a turbo or Supercheap on it

That M43 engine. It brings back lots off memories. Redlined it in every gear. (Where my love begin for Bemmer , but the newer the bemmers got , the more unreliable it got) Cut it up , and build an mad Max pipe Bemmer 😅🤣
