The "nice shot" thing with the wrong translation is actually made on purpose. In Japanese Jamil is just using the lyrics from the song Jafar sings in the movie. In the Japanese version of the prince Ali reprise by Jafar he says "DOKAAAAAN NICE SHOT" and more Japanese words Jamil says just after that haha (something like "abayo Ali" and Jamil says "Abayo Kalim"). They took those lines in the Japanese version. And the English one hasn't translated that, they just took the english lyrics of the song and put them here that's all ^^ Hope this was understandable and that it helps ^^

The Jamil boss fight took me a whole GOD DAMN 3 MONTHS TO FRICKING DEFEAT HIM! I was sooooo pissed but once I was able to defeat him! I started screaming! Never again am I going back to do that fight
I think what disturb me the most in this chapter just like I think of us is the change of voice of Floyd like...He sound like a grandpa or something like that 😂. ...For the battle against OBJamil it took me just once for both why? Cause YTB told me which type of cards I needed the most and...You need friends with powerfull cards😆. Now Pomefiore I am just existing to hear the boys sings 😂
i’m proud to say that jamil’s infinite overblot didn’t take me any more than 10 of 15 times and the only reason it took me 2 weeks was because i kept procrastinating on it
That part with Lilia it did not click at the moment that he can float or fly (whichever of the two) I instead thought his upside down floating was an act of GOD atp. Kinda glad I was able to scrape by Jamil fight with two tries 🤕

Man I always forget how bad the English translation can butcher the original material until I rewatch the cutscenes I'm not talking about the nice shot thing I'm talking about how the English version removed all mentions of the minor little fact that y'know. Jamil is a literal slave owned by Kalim's family. His perspective becomes a lot more understandable when you take that into consideration lmao
Right? The EN version makes him sound like a disgruntled employee who doesn't want to be scolded by his parents, when in actuality if he screws anything up it could cost his entire family. He can't leave, he's bound to a life of servitude. He even gets punished because of Kalim's carelessness and obliviousness. Its a wonder he didn't overblot sooner.

There's no proper context for why he acts the way he does. He's far from the only one, Azul also got bits of his backstory written out for example, but Jamil is certainly the most egregious example of it.
