    Not only that this is a tasteful mod, but this is also what you call a REAL elevator by all means. Also, I died laughing the way how you turned the crank pretending that you’re running the elevator car manually. 😂😂

    Wow that's amazing! What's interesting is it seems the controller was replaced after the 60s mod judging by how the gate acts (it was most likely replaced during the 60s mod. too), but even if it was it doesn't matter because it looks vintage & is overall amazing!

    It's a lovely well preserved bird cage elevator with an open shaft, and nice modifications as to automatic operation. You mentioned it was a winding drum machine was it a basement machine? The counterweight frame anchored to the right side of the shaft wall? Likely has a rectifier for the DC motor, mounted in the floor relays panel or above the floor selector.

    I was a little late to watch this video. I guess it's my Christmas special from you now LOL. Anyways, this video was amazing and the information you shared about the building was awesome.
