SOS is not sent in single latters so there is no pause between the third (short) and the fourth (long) beep. its ..._ _ _ ... and not ... _ _ _ ... (like in the video). or to be more clear: its dididida_da_da_dididi and not dididi_da_da_da_dididi (like in the video)
Sim, mas da pra perceber que é "-" por causa do som longo e diferente. Se fosse usando uma caneta, provavelmente a pessoa que estaria recebendo essa mensagem se confundiria. 😅
Wrong. I get where you're coming from though; you think that the silence after the 3 first fast beeps will make the third beep sound like a long beep while it isn't one. So you are of the opinion that it should be four fast beeps, with the fourth signifying the start of the 3 slow beeps, but this is not correct. The Morse code for SOS is represented as " ... - - - ... " which stands for 3 short signals (fast beeps), followed by 3 long signals (slow beeps) and then 3 short signals again (fast beeps). There is a space or silence between each set of signals, but it's not long enough to make the third short signal sound like a long one. The sequence is: - 3 short signals (Fast beeps): . . . - Brief pause - 3 long signals (Slow beeps): - - - - Brief pause - 3 short signals (Fast beeps): . . . There's no need for a fourth fast beep. The pauses between the signals should be brief enough to avoid confusion. The video is correct, and your assumption is wrong.
@@housemusiclover4817 SOS is not sent as 3 single latters which is why there is no pauses and it doesnt mean (and i never said) that there is 4 short signals. you can hear a sample including the respective source when you look up "SOS signal" at wikipedia. in detail: lets say X = long beep x = short beep _ = pause. SOS in single letters would be xxx_XXX_xxx like in the video. standard SOS doesnt have the pauses so you would hear xxxXXXxxx and again, having the first X follow instantly after the third x does not make it 4 short signals in a row (there are 3 short gaps between #1,2 #2,3 #3,4 with #4 being the first long signal) it might appear to be 4 shorts but the short pause between #3 and #4 still accounts for #3 being a short signal and thus have the next follow right away. not sure how to explain it more clearly - so just look up SOS signal and listen to the respective sample at wikipedia and the linked sources.
Interesting fact: Originally the emergency message was CQD (general distress) -.-./-.-/-.. but titanic sent the first SOS message, it was immediately changed to that message after the disaster, not only it’s easier to understand but easier to communicate
Yes. In second one there are separate lettesr of S, J and S. In the beginiing there are separate letters of S, O and S. They must be send in character without spaces between letters. (True SOS mark.)
lol this is better than the first one I listened to, but this isn't even right, the second 'distress' is just wrong, listen to it. The middle dashes count 4 , should be a 3 count. smh.
