Those old rail beds sure make excellent ATV trails! They sure put a lot of work into those bridges. Awesome scenery. Really nice views from higher elevations. Little sketching at the end on the side of that cliff. Yikes! Awesome video! Thanx for sharin'!
What a great spot on planet earth. We make that trek on motorcycles every year in that region. Beautiful beyond words. And I'm sure it's great for ATV riding, obviously.
I like what I see good job. I'm from the Fraser valley and would love to ride the kvr trails in the videos where the tunnels and the bridges oh and the one tunnel is like 1 k long. Any way you could send me directions on how to get there? Thanks Gary
Great trail . I'm from Calgary and looking for some smooth atv trails. Which club maintains this trail? We would love to chek it out sometime and help possibly help out.
I want to ride this trail, where on Arrow Lakes Dr is a good place to park your trailer? For everyone that wants to know what town this is close to its just West of Castlegar.
Good videofriend that you did. We are new to ATVing and just looking at other people video and thought just stop and say hi! I own a Grizzly 660 and my friend has a Arictic 500 we just like have taping video when we can! We not best video people we just like sharing stuff! Cheers!!!
+ATVknightrider I've got a Grizzly 660 myself, they're great quads. These abandoned railroad beds make nice trails. Usually not too challenging as elevation changes and sharp curves were not exactly desirable for a rail line. That's why you can usually fly down these type of trails. Except for that last part. I assume the trail got eroded over the years and got a bit narrow. Still plenty of room for quads. Utvs over 50" wouldn't have fit there. That's the point where they would have to stop.
wow its very nice, you are happy people, at slovakia we can ride only asphalt road, forest and nature can ride only jaegers and select people .... ordinary people can watch videos :)
Something you'd have to get use to when riding in the high rocky mountains, in Idaho where I live you can ride trails that go for miles just like that, nice narrow cliff hangers with hundred foot+ and beyond strait down drops, twisting winding and climbing like a mountain goat, tons of fun with a good pucker factor to boot lol.
We did a lot of the KVR ( Trans Canada Trail ) on our mtn bikes up until a few years ago...the atvs have torn areas up to the point they're unrideable on a mtn bike!
Awesome ride, out of Castlegar I think . any idea as to width of that bride before you went on that bypass at the end? Would a 56 in wide sxs fit through there?
That's the problem with SXS's and why I got rid of mine and now stick to 4 wheelers, nothing worse than following a trail for miles then finding out you can't squeeze through, and have to back track for that many miles, and maybe never get to where you wanted to go in the first place because there aint no other way, and even if you have one of the smallest SXS's you still can't do the things with them that you can with a 4 wheeler to get squeezed through places.

Great ride thanks for sharing. Is this the trail out at Castlegar?
The spots on the trestles were used to hold water barrels and in ccase you were on the line you would have some place to go to when a train came
this is really cool, where in bc is this? like what part of kootenays or area/ town is it near?
awesome place
Ok thank God

+Greg Rowe Maybe at about 12:30 that trail to the left would have been a way around that for wider vehicles.
what's the trail head coordinates?
awesome
Are those spots on the bridge for wizzing? or a special place for looking where you can not see the view other wise??
the spots on the old railway brig was for water barrels. I in case of a fire that was the only water you could get in a hurry.
Is this called the Columbia and Western Rail Trail by any chance?
Where is this place? anyone know ??
Need some sound or commentary those bridges are freaky when you look over the railing. lol I've gotta go riding there thats for sure.

You were riding on railroad property
+Brent Wood the railroad sold the property
It's a public trail
BC has a program called rails to trails converting old railway tracks to public trails
Or not
