I think the so-called jokes like the repetition of lesbian and dropping the T in LGBTQ are meant to show the ignorance and detachment of the Broadway players. Just my take.
"Lgbqt" it's because it sound like lgb cutey. She is a woman who knows nothing about the matter so it makes total sense for her to use flourishes and such to introduce the matter. It's great sutil character building
My dear, I am a fan…of both you and this show (and the film version). Saw it on Broadway twice. When the film came out I was naturally concerned but I will admit, I believe I liked it better than the stage version. It’s not because I felt Cordon and Streep did any better than Brooks and Beth, but my goodness the screenplay was far more fleshed out than the stage version. I DID enjoy the way it was shot, I do believe the locations added to the proceedings and OMG that “Unruly Heart” was far more powerful to me than the stage version. Both beautiful but onstage I sighed and wept and onscreen I ugly cried for 20 minutes. No one will ever beat Angie Schwormer but Kidman did well. Rannels was too young for this part. You are a refreshing and welcome addition to my UA-cam viewing. Let me know if you ever get to New York. 💕😎
I didn't really say much during The Lady's Improving that I hadn't said already so it didn't make the cut from over an hour of raw footage! I did react to Love Thy Neighbour though, it's in the video 😊
I'm with you that I only like certain parts of The Prom, but I think I particularly like to focus on Emma's story, the actors just feel like they're putting too much emphasis on them and I get that it's part of the point but it's frustrating when it truly begins to take away from Emma and Alyssa's story. I think the musical itself is slightly better. That being said, the movie did a lot of good things. As you pointed out, the orchestration is literally one of the best things the film did. They scaled it really well to fit the film format (ie Broadway needs to be bigger and bassy where the movie can afford to be less so). James Corden did alright actually, he sounds good in Tonight Belongs to You. As always, Ariana Debose is brilliant. They should not have cut the last verse in You Happened. I've never been a big Andrew Rannells fan but having seen him put on one of the best performances of the movie, I sort of get it. Love that they kept the choreography from the show. Staging for Love Thy Neighbor did an excellent job with the cinematography and space, again Andrew Rannells is selling it. Unruly Heart brilliant.
They did cast amazing vocals for this show. had no idea who James Cordan was before this and Thought the person who played Barry was great. Then I found out....
I’m floored at “oh no. Not the straight people”

the fact you skipped "we look to you" aka the most boring song on broadway... same
I am literally a teacher who lives to go to the theatre and even I cannot cope with this song.
what?? that song is beautiful!! it’s like an ode to broadway.
THATS MY FAVORITE SONG...
I’m shocked you skipped Barry’s Going To Prom
I listened to it but didn't have much to say so it didn't make the 15 minute edit of 1 hour + of recording 😊

And then it made cry. Unruly heart Will do that to you
If 'Tonight Belongs to You (Reprise)', 'Alyssa Greene', and 'Unruly Hearts' don't make you cry you have no heart.
This is so fun to watch! 💓
Thank you for this video, i haven’t laughed this hard in a long time.

You called it! Ariana DeBose is set to play an official Disney Princess in “Wish” next year.
