I became interested when I used to go to church, and I saw the drummer and was too fascinated with him adnsnd the drumming, and one morning I woke up and just started watching all kinds of drum covers. And just by the way, you are the best (in my opinion) of all the drummers I have seen on youtube. Some are comparable, but you are by far the best with replying to comments and really getting to know your audience. You my friend have another subscriber.
Hey! I really appreciate the kind words. It all depends on the track, but for the most part I just know the song progression and then I just jam along/improv my way through. This song was probably 85% improv while some other videos may be closer to 50% or less if I'm playing a lot of the original drum part. With pop songs like this I get to have the most fun creating my own parts. I like to leave it all live and just see what stuff I can come up with on the fly!

+pudelplays From personal experience, as you improve youy learn how to play more and more rudiments, grooves ect, even time signatures. And as a result you 'libary' of grooves ect grows, then upon improvising you have more to draw from! It all has to do with confidence at playing a wide range of styles as well, you see +COOP3RDRUMM3R using a lot of doubles on the toms, hi-hats ect, varying kick placements ect. And ofc he has a great deal of skill not just knowledge :D

Had a set of drums in my teens but had to say goodbye to them due to complaints from the neighbours. I can only imagine what might have been, but can only tip my hat to this guy who gives me endless pleasure from his videos. Great talent and showmanship - brilliant.

I was attempting too awhile ago; however, I do not have the proper microphones to go around the drum system and they can get pretty expensive. I want to have the sound right and I want to be able to go back and listen and watch what I am doing to fix mistakes as I think it always sounds perfect while I am playing. Any suggestions?

I know my drummers and the drumming world, and Casey, in my own opinion, is the best out there. Never have I seen someone who puts so much passion into his craft. And for his age and how much talent he has, surpasses everyone, Casey Cooper is a god.
+Biff DingleDoo wow! we obviously have different ideas on passion, skill, and talent. with his arms flailing around, casey can barely use ghost notes. the video i just showed you had so much dynamics that if you closed your eyes, it would sound like a drum duet. "if he thinks it, he can play it; just total transparency". i have no idea what drumming world you're talking about but one thing's for sure, it's not the one i know. with that comment i've figured out how much you actually know and i see no point in continuing a conversation with someone who cannot and will not (never) understand me.
here's an advice. don't tell people they know nothing about drums cause i may (trust me, it will) backfire.
but hell, what do i know? i'm just a drummer from a totally different world. see yah!
