Brent, overall a very thorough and detailed and completely understandable presentation but if I could make a suggestion, sometimes you scroll thru the options in the menu while youre talking about one thing and showing 50 things in the menu...if you could slow your roll on the scrolling and when you are talking about something specific, stop scrolling. Its my hope that in the next 2 or 3 months to be able to get one of these processors and the amps that go with it to start rebuilding my primary system from scratch.
Brent, Thank you so much for this tutorial! I really want a MC-1 processor and a couple of Emotiva amps to go with it. The MC-1 is all about theater sound not extra bloated features of a current AVR. Keep the gear Emotiva gear coming.
I'm planning on buying a pt1 and a basx amp but I cant figure out if the basx2 will let me connect two subwoofers with high level crossover or if I need to have more channels to do that. do I need at least the basx4 to do this. (or at a pinch the basx3 and share the third channel for the subs.)
Brent, Here's a question I have about the Emotiva A1 speakers. Why are they only marketed as reflective or wall mounted? Seems rather limited marketing for the usability that I assume they have. Personally, I am not sold on the idea of "in ceiling" speakers that "fire" directly at the floor under them, which is could be several feet from the listener(s). I understand that the tweeter in some ceiling speakers, like yours, can be aimed at the listener(s) but, that seems to defeat the usefulness of the woofer. I have been thinking about building custom brackets and installing a pair of your A1 speakers on my ceiling because the tweeter is the same as my T-Zero towers and C1+ speakers. If there is a physical, electrical or sonic reason for not using the A1 speakers as real Atmos speakers I would like to know that limitation. Thank you and please have a great day.
@@EmotivaAudioCorp Ahh, it's just a bracket/mounting issue. I was hoping the speakers were good ones. When and if I ever have the money I'll buy a pair, build brackets and give them a try. They have to be better than the speakers I'm using now. Thanks for the reply and have a great day.

Very useful tutorial video on the speaker assignment/layout for the MC1. I just purchased an MC1. I also have a Marantz av7704 processor and though it has features the MC1 lacks (AURO-3D decoding for example), I'm not thoroughly thrilled with it and decided to give the MC1 a try. I reviewed the user manual for the MC1 and frankly, unless I missed it - in which case please tell me where it is - there's no info like this to help clarify how to make your speaker assignment work with your actual physical speaker placement if it's not an exact match. It would have been very useful if Emotiva had placed a matrix table in the user manual that covers what was explained in the video. But in any case, it seems Emotiva has carefully considered the possibilities and provided the necessary settings to help with this important part of setup. I'm looking forward to trying the MC1. Again, very useful video, thanks!
very very cool how you have such well thought out options to cover ALL the bases...well almost. Sadly Emotia doesn't have a processor / AVR that does Auro3D which to me is a MUST have on my next AVR. Auro3D makes bad ATMOS discs sound amazing. Many ATMOS discs were terribly mastered and they spent no time with height info. Auto3D makes your upper bed speakers come alive if you upmix ATMOS. If you had that it would be a game changer.Great stuff though

Depending on which source I'm using, the OSD isn't always on screen because I have my PS5 and another source directly plugged into my tv because of HDMI 2.1 features
Went from wanting XMC-2 to Basx MC-1. I just need 13 chan processing for my 2 A7's. I don't need 179 hdmi ports lol. XLR ports require an XLR port amp($2k for 7 chan)no thanks. The entire BASX line has my 7.2.4 sounding so nice

We have customers using the A1s as ceiling speakers but since there is no ceiling mount for them, we cannot recommend it.

if you bypass crossover on F R C SR SL and put sub to none will the LFE track be send across all 5 speakers or only the mains F R?

Traditionally we leave it in Auto mode to pick which will default usually to the upmixer.
