Joey I actually just binge watched a ton oh your “How To” videos and i liked them all But i really like the Daisy Chains ! Tomorrow I’m going out to buy all the supplies i need to make all sorts of rigs !! I’m so tired of buying complete set up rigs for Fluke, SeaBass and others…There so much money and its such a waste ! WE had ordered a whole box of Sea Bas Rigs for the boat I’m working on and used them for the first time on Tuesday, they were triple hook complete Sea BAss rigs… most of them actually fell apart…latterly fell apart !! The Snelled hooks were falling off the rigs. Ive never seen anything like it. So then I just started using Pre tied Fluke rigs and the counters lost a bunch of then…Just absolute shit tackle and I’ve had enough!! Lord knows i have the time so I’m going out and picking up everything i need to just start making my own rigs !! I’m also going to make some of these Daisy Chains because they look awesome!! So ones again I thank you my friend…Your knowledge and instruction is just awesome! Ill let you know how I make out with them John !!!

These daisy chains kick ass. That Mylar skirt added to the squid works awesome. We trolled some Bonita the other day.

Excellent Instructional Video. I am totally new to this and so the fishing nerd in me will watch every video on youtube on this (sigh). I have seen guys who have said that to prevent the bite offs by toothy pelagics, rather than using a straight chain daisy, you can use a single piece mono leader with 4-6 inches of branched wire leaders (using T-slider swivels crimped onto the main leader) attaching to the skirts and hooks as well as for the terminal skirt/chugger etc. Can you share your thoughts/expertise/advice on this please? Truly appreciate it.

I have seen wire used on the bigger stuff for wahoo. For kings maybe a triple hook like they use on party boats down south or single strand wire. I have plenty of other instructional videos on my page. Check them out if you like.

Great tutorial. I ll try it out soon. Just one question, doesnt the sleeve make the mono weak?

The crimp is what holds it all together. But never over crimp cause then you can damage the mono

Do you ever find that fish chomp on the upper squid? Or do they tend to only hit the stinger?

Do you really need to put that small piece of mono into the sleeve? I get why it's done and it might not crimp right without it but really just curious

Yes. The crimps are made for that size mono so I add it to keep everything the same and risk sliding

5-7kts. I like them on 2nd or 3rd wave. They also work well off stern

They are just mono protectors. They come in a clear tube. You can order from pelagic outfitters in Lindenhurst NY
