Thank you so much for this video king. I’m a Junior in High School and I just auditioned for UNCSA HS Senior Drama and got in so videos like these are really helpful for preparing to go into “real” audition season. Praying everyday to be apart of Group 58!😤
Honestly, pretty much the same advice you’re giving folks here. Stay open. Be ready to play. Take great notes for yourself (I wish I took better notes, so that I could refer back to them). Be YOU. Trust the process. Your classmates truly become your family. And HAVE FUN!!
It’s been nothing short of a joy to see you grow these past few months eddy. I’m so excited to start this journey with you king!!! Accent needs a little work but we’ll get there. Love ya
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!🎊 🎉 U are about to embark on the most amazing journey!! Soak up every journey!! Take every class!! Go to every event!! Read every play!!! Obviously, I don’t know U, but I’m very, very excited and proud of U, my young brother!!🙏🏾🔥
Thank you for this man. I’m a senior this year and am auditioning for about eight schools for a BFA in acting. genuinely terrified that I won’t get into any, but your story is very inspiring to me.
Nothing to be afraid about. If you fail that’s normal learn and come back stronger everytime. I’ve failed more times then I have won in terms of this profession. Fear is just a figment of our imagination when you really think about it.
Also- can I recommend that U pick up “Intent to Live” by Larry Moss. Great techniques for prep in that book. If U don’t know who Larry Moss is, U are in for a treat!🙏🏾🔥
thanks for sharing! would love to know whether all admitted students have previous acting experiences? would love to know how diverse the acting experiences are among the students. are there some people with little experience? such as being in the drama society at uni
I don't have mentors 😭😭. I'm basically new to acting and I don't know where exactly to start, Also the whole process takes about a year right? So if I were to audition this year (and get accepted (btw I won't be auditioning this year)) I'd start the following year.
Before you audition for Juilliard or any school for theatre really see if it’s for you. Acting especially at schools like Juilliard isn’t a hobby anymore it’s a career path and your life. Take time man try doing community theatre work crew get some experience in the art then evaluate from there. It took me 4 years to realize I want to do this as a profession
@@zotter1235 anything is possible nobody who gets in think that its even possible to get in. Just work on your craft and yourself and do research on the program. I believe in you!
@@eddypattt1663 this might be a really silly question but when you’re in the audition room and you perform the monologues do you look at the wall kind of behind the panel? I assume you don’t make eye contact with the assessors? Thanks!
Sorry let me rephrase, Do the directors run workshop auditions? do actors work together in groups on various exercises (drama games, improvisation or devising) during the audition process? Or do actors walk into the audition room to perform the four monologues and sing one song? Considering applying for a masters degree and found this video quite helpful! Thank you for your quick reply!

How does that whole Pre-screening work? I am from germany, so I can't afford flying there for audition, but I really want to audition the up coming year. Do you know how that whole thing works? ^^ Greetings from Germany! :)
Brother you would first have to do the pre-screening audition first on zoom then they’ll let you know whether you should come and do an in person audition🤲🏽
You do two rounds of auditions over zoom I believe. The cut people from both rounds if you make it past they will invite you to an in person audition. But they don’t offer any reimbursements so it’s a risk you have to be willing to take.
ACTUAL AUDITION STORY STARTS AT 13:06
It would be amazing to see the monologues that you send in!:)
I might🤔
