FLYING! New PERSONAL BEST but a difficult weekend at Edgewater!

- Obviously this past week has been tough. The Dually was stolen, wrecked, recovered, but as of Friday morning it had not yet been repaired good enough to tow my 50ft trailer 200 miles to Cincinnati and back. PLUS, I was entering the Malibu in an index class that the car had never been fast enough to compete in. But does that stop anyone at my shop?
Love the content you are doing!! I was a track rat back in the day at Beach Bend then moved to Indiana and found dirt racing was more popular in my area and started hanging out with the dirt cars. I have always been a spectator or working on the cars helping out in the pits but never had a car that was even considered a race car. Well 47 yrs old and my Dad passed 3 yrs ago now but he told me before he left that life's WAY to short and for me to do what I wanted to do for years with whatever I got from him. Well he left me enough to go buy a Camaro SS only it's a 2010 and not the split bumper I really want but it's something I can do things to and go do what you're doing and have fun. I know this was a long 1 and I'm sorry about that but I wanted you to realize how much it means to me and I'm sure countless others what you are doing. Teaching us the ways and from the beginning and not going out and getting a promod and starting there. So this was the long version of THANK YOU!
@P Kudsk you got that right brother! That has been my philosophy ever since Dad left. That is so true especially when I look back on my 47 yrs and can't believe how quickly it happened.
You know, one thing about bracket racing is that it isn't so stressful. Good lights and good 60 ft times make you competitive if you can be consistent. It's still fun. Plus, you have time for your young fans, I really like to see that!

Malibu is getting better and better! We learned the same thing on our 355. Timing marks aren't right. More timing woke it up!
Curious because I just dropped a 355 in my father in laws 63 gmc, what did you set yours at? The holley sniper EFI that he bought asks for 15° BTDC.
@@twelveounceartist don't know for sure. Timing marks are off. I need to revisit the issue by finding top dead center on #1 and align harmonic balencer mark with zero on Timing tab.

This is my kinda racing, love bracket racing, and I drive an 1981 Malibu, also have an 1968 dodge dart, and my wife has an 1992 Camaro, so I love the cars these guys run, stay strong

Not sure if you can do the same with Chevy, but with Pontiac you can build a piston stop with and old spark plug, knock the porcelain out and and weld a 1/4 bolt on it. Then put it in number 1 rotate it one way slowly, mark the balancer. Rotate the other way mark the balancer 1/2 way between is top dead center. And should be zero degrees on the balancer.
My lil 355 ran 11.50 on motor with just a big cam,dome pistons,bordox aluminum heads

You really found something special. That has to be one of the cleanest Malibu's low milage 6 silander car so it was never beat on. The person who previously owned it took really good care of it. I would love to find one that is tight and rite as this one.

of those Trail Ridge mirrors. FACT if my truck actually vibrated as bad as my mirrors there wouldn't be a safe cup holder in the truck!

Wanted to make it to us60 to watch The Boys race while they was here in Kentucky again but woke up and realized what Saturday was. My Dads 65th birthday if he was still here. So I was a cryin mess for couple hours lol. Ended up going to visit his grave and ended up going Arrowhead hunting. The Old Man smiled on me yesterday Bill😎🏹

Bill this is your best video yet. I have not bracket raced in 20yrs at Edgewater. Because of your videos Im building a G-Body Bracket car again. 82 Cutlass from Florida with zero rust. Get the car tomorrow and have a couple weekends of work before she is ready. A new 4 bolt 355 crate motor, a RV truck cam. Has a nice set of Eldelbrock RPM heads with a Holley Carb and a new TCI 350 transmission. I have to figure out what Rear gear it has. But I’m hoping to run mid 12’s on just motor. After I learn the car and how to play the game again she will get a 150 shot. I got a stupid deal on this car. I will be racing a rust free 12 second bracket car with a new motor and new transmission for around $6,000 bucks. Deals are out there Guys if you hustle. Thanks for the inspiration Bill. Please do more Track videos. Hope to line up next to you at Edgewater soon…

I love the style of videos, I grew up with my dad's bracket racing a 32 Ford roadster with a 427 Chevy that was a handful. Great memories an I miss him dearly. I'm 31 now with to kids of my own so don't get to race much but racing is a passion that never goes away.

I know I can find a explanation any where, but you always have a way of explaining things that are easy to understand .a little bit of the reasons you do what you do . Explain a couple of scenarios that someone might experience in bracket racing . Keep up the good work !

Make you a little 383 out of that bottom end. It will go 11's on motor. The 700r4 is good for cruising but eats power at the track. Great video. 👍
