Hi there. Unfortunately this IP phone does not have a built in wireless adapter to connect to WIFI natively, HOWEVER I believe you can connect Fanvil IP phones to wifi using the following adapter, but keep in mind this would utilize the ONE USB port the Fanvil X5U has, meaning you wouldn't be able to use this adapter and a USB headset at the same time: amzn.to/3KJ86u6

I appreciate the vid, looks like a pretty great phone. But I'd like to recommend actually using it in an environment. Testing it. And bring back like a good pro and cons.

Hi Nathan, thank you for the kind comment and the suggestions. We are thinking about getting more accounts with the providers so that we can test more funs in real time. Some of these phones we review are VERY finnicky about what providers they support, for example, I don't think you can use the Fanvil X5U on Vonage, Nextiva, RingCentral or OnSIP so testing it proves difficult since it's a very special phone per say via provisioning capabilities. Hopefully soon we can setup maybe a testing area with multiple demo accounts from various providers.

Being a sip phone it'll work with most sip capable pbxs. Like a mitel office 250 or a 3cx. But downside is no telling how many features are supported.
I just picked up the x5u-r for 3cx, since I have a mitel I'll probs build a sip profile for it to .

@@nathanverhelst3992 It should and probably will work with Mitel just fine, but with most of the hosted guys like Vonage, Nextiva, etc that we most commonly discuss it can be SERIOUSLY hit or miss, and if they say it's "not supported" good luck getting support to help you when some features work and others don't haha. And YES that phone will work fine with 3CX. Voip Supply has it working in their labs I believe with 3CX no issues; but that's one of the very few carriers I know of that support the Fanvil X5U. Fanvil is a strange animal because they typically DO NOT sell it the way it is in the video, they sell it mostly WHITE LABEL. That's their niche so to speak, which is why you don't see much Fanvil natively in the market.

That's actually great to hear about the white label, my company is trying to move from the onsite pbx systems to our cloud, 3cx was an obvious pick, I didn't know fanvil does white label, direct from fanvil or a reseller?

@@nathanverhelst3992 YEP, it's why we don't do very many reviews of their stuff. We've been told by some of the distrubutors who send us items for review that Fanvil doesn't typically like it when people promote the forward facing brand. From what I understand they typically ONLY sell to authorized resellers who can prove they have a brand to properly whitelabel and protect their device copyrights; Similar to how Nextiva has their own brand of phones (white labeled) but they are Vtech phones at the core, however Vtech doesn't hide it at all. They are open about the fact that Nextiva white labeled phones are SNOM and Vtech phones.
