Security control at Sofia airport

All departing passengers and their hand baggage undergo thorough security control for items prohibited to carry on board, or for an observance of the limitations on the transportation of liquids, aerosols or gels in hand baggage. Such limitations do not concern products purchased from the outlets after security control, or certain medicines or food.

Been there, i was treated with respect and not held in any line for bs. They did send me to register some form in case something happens to you as a foreigner...had to write my name in cyrillics..routine stuff
