A very promising reaction 😎! I 👁👁see that you have reacted to Christopher Williams before: Every Little Thing U Do and I'm Dreamin'. Promises, Promises was released as the second single from Christopher Williams' 1989 album: Adventures In Paradise. It was written by Christopher Williams. It was produced by Alton "Wokie" Stewart and Timmy Gatling. The song reached #7 on the R&B chart. The music video was directed by Geoffrey Edwards. Alton "Wokie" Stewart is singing the background vocals on the song. Some people compare his singing voice to the late great Teddy Pendergrass. Promises, Promises was written about Christopher Williams' then girlfriend actress Stacey Dash. Christopher Williams is Al B Sure's cousin.
    Christopher Williams Info 📰:
Christopher Williams was born on August 22, 1967 in The Bronx, New York. He is a singer-songwriter-producer-actor. He is the nephew of legendary jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald. Known for his passionate baritone voice, he has been called the "Modern Day Teddy Pendergrass". He attended Purchase College; now known as State University of New York in Harrison, New York. He is also known for acting roles in New Jack City (1991), Bulletproof (1996) and Gunmen (1993). After releasing three albums, all of which charted on the Billboard 200, he took a break from recording from 1995-2001.
Christopher Williams released his debut album: Adventures In Paradise, in 1989. The singles "Talk To Myself" and "Promises, Promises" reached the R&B Top 10, and Christopher's powerful voice helped him stand out among his peers. In 1991 he appeared alongside Wesley Snipes and Ice-T in the movie New Jack City. He contributed to the movie's soundtrack with "I'm Dreamin'". It would become Christopher Williams' biggest hit, reaching number one on the R&B chart.
His next album on Uptown Records: Changes (1992), produced more hit songs with: "All I See", "Every Little Thing U Do" and a cover of the Teddy Pendergrass classic "Come Go With Me".
Christopher Williams was falsely accused in the court of public opinion of busting Halle Berry's eardrum when they dated in 1991-92 but he later revealed in an interview that it was his New Jack City movie co-star Wesley Snipes who did the deed.
Christopher Williams would go on to record two more albums while switching record labels twice in the process: Not A Perfect Man (1995) and Real Men Do (2001). Since then, he's been performing his songs live on stage and appearing in various acting roles for tv, films and stage plays.
Christopher Williams made public at a venue in October 2022 that he had been struggling with health issues related to kidney failure and was in a coma on November 5, 2021. He openly talked about his illness causing him to lose weight drastically down to 129 pounds and admitted that it was hard to pick up a fork to feed himself.
Christopher Williams recently made a special cameo appearance in Washington, DC on November 12, 2022 during the curtain call of the adapted from the movie stage play "New Jack City: Live On Stage". He spoke on his previous public health update when he was hospitalized weighing 129 pounds and doctors told him that he may never be able to walk again. He followed his brief statement with an impromptu performance of his hit song "I'm Dreaming". The video of him discussing his health issues can be seen on New Jack City stage play's producer Je'Caryous Johnson's Facebook video post.
In 2020 TV One aired an Unsung episode detailing Christopher Williams' life and music career. He still performs his songs live on stage in 2023.

CW voice and even according to him in several past interviews has always been considered his generations Teddy Pendagrass and if you listen and compare Chris’s version of Come Go with Me you’ll see why

Nice reaction to "Promises, Promises". Christopher Williams can REALLY sing. He's more similar to Teddy Pendergrass; he has more bass than Freddie Jackson. Will you please react to his song "All I See"? That song is 🔥🔥🔥

He’s more a Baritone than a Bass. Guys with that deep raspy voice like Teddy Pendergrass, Jeffery Osborne, and James Ingram (who Christopher Williams looked up to) are deep Dramatic Baritones. Freddie Jackson and Luther Vandross are Baritones voice types who have Tenor vocal range and often stay singing in their falsetto, head, and mixed voices to achieve that tenor sound. But their chest register and talking voice is much deeper than a Tenor. Real Basses are rare… because even Barry White and Isaac Hayes are more Bass-Baritones. Because while they’ll talk in a Bass tone when they sing their in the Baritone range and register. Real Bass Singers like Melvin Franklin from Temptations and Paul Roberson (who was a Classically Trained Bass who could get into higher baritone ranges but keeps the Bass thickness and tone) singing voices staying in a lower booming rumble and low end creek when their projecting their voices. That’s a big difference in Basses and Baritones. Folks just often confuse them because Church Choirs for the longest just did 4 ranges (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass) opposed to the 6 core vocal types (Soprano, Mezzo, Contralto, Tenor, Baritone, Bass). Because Gospel Choral Music was normally written in 4 Part Harmony. And often people with certain Voice Types can sing in different Vocal ranges. So in Choirs you’d have Baritones who can sing high so they’ll sing with the Tenors normally as a 2nd Tenor. And a low singing Woman who has a Contralto voice but is good singing lower singing with the Tenors as a 1st Tenor. So while their singing in the Tenor section. And the church will call them Tenors. They’re not really Tenor because their actual voice type (which is judged by vocal weight, voice color, timber, breaks in voice and when having to change vocal registers) is actually Baritone and Contralto perspectively. But I digress…
Sorry for rambling on. But anyhow, Christopher Williams (
like Teddy P) is Deep Baritone not a Bass.

Chris had that strong masculine baritone - much more like Miles Jaye or Teddy than Freddie Jackson.
