Mirio fought Overhaul for 15 minutes out of those 15 minutes he fought for 5 minutes without a quirk. Against a man that if touched he is dead. Also, at the beginning of the fight Overhaul called Mirio school boy at the end he called him Lemilion! I guess Chisaki respects Mirio enough to call him by his hero name

That attack of Mirio was actually called Phatom Menace in the manga, but they had to change it to Phantom Threat for obvious copyright reasons. On that note, Kohei, the creator of My Hero Academia, is a huge fan of Star Wars.
They didn’t have any issue calling locations after Star Wars stuff like Kamino.
no they just changed it for no reason. like the post above me says he uses locations just fine, and Class 1-B had an entire play that ripped off Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter AND StarWars. Horikoshi has even done work for Star Wars and Marvel at Disnaey;s behest.
They changed in the dub, the Japanese voice actor clearly said Phantom Menace

MHA is all about asking and trying to answer the question, what is a hero?
Way back in episode 1, Izuku asks if he can become a hero without a quirk. I'd say Horikoshi gives us the answer here with Mirio.
By all accounts he should've been killed by Overhaul but with his sheer will, training and courage he manages to hold his own all to save one life.
That is why Mirio is my favourite character.
He answers it with another "Not really?".

John Dinner that’s the great thing about MHA, Horikoshi doesn’t just ask “Can this person become a hero,” but also “What does it mean to be a hero?” This is especially true in the culture festival. It’s been out for a few weeks, but I won’t say too much if anyone here is watching it alongside the Normies, who haven’t gotten there yet: being a hero means to save a person’s heart as well as their body. In that way, even a musician who plays to bring smiles to the faces of those who really need it is a Hero Too.

So basically Sir Nighteye and Deku join the fight and Sir Nighteye ends up getting impaled real bad with Chisaki's quirk. This injury ends up being fatal, so people from the Nighteye agency plus All Might spend time with him during his last moments. Mirio got injured pretty badly, so the nurses try to hold him back from putting too much strain on his body, but he goes to visit Nighteye anyways (they're all being treated in the same hospital). The two talk and Nighteye uses his quirk one last time on Mirio and tells him that he will become a great hero. Then Nighteye tells either Mirio or everybody in the room (I can't remember lol) to keep smiling cuz without joy and happiness in the world there will be no "bright future". The episode is also title "Bright Future" btw

sir nighteye is fatally injured fighting overhaul, who is then beat by Deku at 100% power with the help of Eri's quirk that rewinds his body evreytime he destroys it with 100% attacks. nighteye dies in the hospital with allmight, deku, and mirio by his side. right before he finally passes though, nighteye uses his quirk to read mirio's future. smiling, he says mirio will become a fine hero, and this is the only future that shouldnt be changed. he tells the 3 of them to keep smiling and laughing, bc a world without laughter has no bright future. the arc ends with his heartrate flatlining, all might deku and mirio crying, and the chapter title, "bright future".
The name of the episode where Nighteye dies is "Bright Future"

So I'll confess, when I started My Hero I loved it, but I did dislike the belief that to be a hero one needed a quirk, that Deku was lesser because he only had the will and enthusiasm (and the big ass brain). So when the ep Lemillion happens, it's some validation, Mirio fought quirkless against a guy who could blow him to bits with a touch and got some hits in and did his job as a hero, no quirk, just willpower. The truest of heroes
dannybob42 honestly I can see why the belief of needing a quirk to be a hero is a thing because if you look at Mirio vs Overhaul, if Mirio had his quirk he would have won, but without it he would have died eventually. In the end he would have been known as the quirkless guy who died showing society that you need a quirk to more or less survive and be an actual hero.
I get what you mean but what All Might said back then is still true. Mirio would die if Deku (a person with a quirk) don't go to save him. How a Quirkless person can defeat a Nomu, a Muscular, an All for One? That's not possible
But he had to in that moment it wasn’t his choice to lose his quirk
But he still lost the fight once his quirk was gone. Sure, it took way longer than anyone would have thought, but Mirio was 100% going to die if Deku didn’t burst through that wall.

@Tony Soprano Nah, it is obvious that Lemillion will be back with his power once Eri gains more control over her quirk. Probably as a savior at a critical moment, since he is just so powerful, he will be back once the villains are all more powerful. Otherwise that would be so easy for him, he is just invincible.

i remember when the chapter drop it was way before mirio appear in the anime. so people were getting very hype. anime only thought the guys was weird but we knew. oh yeah we knew.
So Edna was wrong in the Incredible...a cape does have a use ! Cover the angle of a body when you are shoot...and being use as a blanket to protect a girl in pain !
This is just one case of success though. Edna was talking about the whole picture. Capes are a liability you don't want to stress about when your entire job is fighting and rescue.
No, Edna was still right. Capes are terribly ineffective and pretty much the only reason to have them is to look cool.

@@Renkencen Well he could. Though if that happened while moving, he would have to be able to react before/milisekund after the cape got caught, or he would still have to bear the force of the impact.

Also love seeing people react to the preview like that. You feel so relieved. The boy knows when he's needed, and he'll be there.

When the others find him he looks so exhausted, relieved, and distraught. That face really got to me. Someone who tried their hardest alone and held off the enemy for as long as they could.
@@DrexPlays Yeah you're right. I'd rather that Deku was the one that charged ahead and Mirio stayed behind to fight with Tamaki or something. Then after Deku realizes that Chisaki outmatches him (cuz lets be honest, in a one on one with Overhaul without the help of Eri, things don't look so good for Deku), Mirio phases through the wall and comes to save the day, even if he ends up losing his quirk anyway.

Dre Plays Well it wouldn’t have made sense otherwise. I mean, how would Deku even reach them before Lemillion? Plus, it makes for a really cool moment for both characters. We haven’t seen Deku at his best yet, so this was refreshing watching him go all out.

Yeah Shigaraki basically just trusted them to do their own thing, knowing that in all likelihood that would result in betraying the hassakai... He trusted them so they trusted him in return.

Is no one gonna talk about the fact that Rana technically figured out Eri's quirk when literally no other reactor even thought of a possibility of it being a reversal kind of quirk?! I mean maybe I'm overreacting but the fact that she was pretty accurate is amazing!!! 14:18
I interpreted her differently there. I figured that she meant maybe eri can reverse the effects of her own quirk, like how overhaul can make somebody explode then put them back together again
If Chisaki's plan on the distribution of the drugs has already been explained, I don't remember, then it's not super amazing, since the series already said it outloud. If it hasn't then it's cool, yeah.

i think she maybe meant that it was meant as a "counter" type of reversal, as in i think ranan meant a retaliation type of quirk. (btw i dont remember if those exist but retaliation type quirks would be a cool addition. quirks that activate based on actions done to a person vs what they do.
like i know fat gum has thar spear he forms from ths damage someone gives him, but that is an application of his quirk, vs what i mean is the whole quirk works like thaT

MHA has always had well animated fights but I've always appreciated the emotion behind them even more. Lemillion's will alone is worthy of a number one hero, to take on all those guys and keep on fighting without a quirk is badass 😮
Arif Ahmed everyone forgot lemillion fights already after episode 13 thats what standout animation episode are for.
Lemillion fight episode got jus average still animation which wont be remembered, ill bet that the normies will forget the fight when episode 13 turns up.
Honnestly this fight is for me much better than the one in episode 13 ... cause the fight in episode 13 literally only has animation for itself and that's it it's not really even a fight anyway it's a one shot ... this fight has so much more emotion
yeah, this episode wasn't the best when it comes to animation which is why people don't like it that much but from an emotional standpoint, this episode was top notch!
Tbh I can't say the fights are good from a choreography stand point the emotions in them are definitely always there.
One Punch Fish The Mirio fight had good choreography, it just wasn’t animated the way it deserved.

When talking about going through something more intense then the "sloshed" quirk. I always saw that as why Sir nighteye has them do the tickle training, like you see him use on Bubble girl. If you remember Miss Joke, laughing is one of the most debilitating abilities. So if you can react properly when laughing uncontrollably, any other debilitating effects will hopefully be reduced, which it was.
Well, there's also the fact that his quirk is a disorienting mess
@@relic5752 Well yes and no. He only gets disoriented under certain circumstances with his power, especially now. Normally activating an area that deals with sight or sound (ears and eyes) is what you're referring to. If he goes under ground as well yes, he doesn't see or feel anything there and comes out of the ground awkwardly, but very much in his control. You can clearly see in this episode he controls his power near flawlessly. He controls his disorientation with his power, compared to say tickle training, which he would have literally 0 control on. So it helps explain that awkward as hell tickle machine and dealing with disorientation out of his control. Like I said you aren't wrong but I don't think that is what he is referring to with that line. Happy watching :)

Why don't they use guns more. It would be super effective on 90% of characters. Kirishima is literally the only bullet proof character in Class 1-A. We don't even know for sure if All Might can take a shot.

@@cameronjosephvideos5942 All Might with his quirk probably would've moved too fast for a bullet to hit (like at USJ). But the reason more characters don't use guns is likely due to the gun laws in place in Japan where the only characters you've seen have a gun have almost definitely gotten them illegally except for the police and Snipe who's equipment would be managed by the government. Iirc current laws in Japan are so stringent police officers who use guns even in training have to keep track of every bullet they use and there's an issue if even one is unaccounted for, not to mention it's almost impossible for a civilian to own a gun.
FeyPhantom to add on to this, most of the time even the police don't have access to real bullets. In vigilantes we see a lot of how they use a type of bullet that focuses more on subduing compared to actual bullets.
Fun fact: Chamillionare is a legitimate millionaire now. He’s super tech savvy and a smart businessman, and he’s made a fortune

I think most people don't talk about the fact that overhaul could react and move faster than rappa but mirio could overwhelmed overhaul with his punches and avoid being touched by chisaki even when he was quirkless

Mirio is a true hero and they did not give him any power, coming from the hair of an old man, the power to penetrate is really crap, so the father told him that he could not become a hero, but Mirio perfected his power, he controlled it in such a way as to make it seem invincible.

I think the reason Toga and Twice didn't say that Shigaraki ordered them to betray the Yakuza is that the Yakuza guys didn't understand how the League of Villains operates. In the Yakuza, you are given orders and are expected to follow them. In the League of Villains, they tend to just do what they want. Shigaraki tells both of them that if the yakuza wanted him he would join them to screw them over. But they don't want him. So Toga and Twice joined up with the Yakuza and with no orders to betray them but the knowledge that Shgaraki wouldn't care if they did. So like Chris said, They asked the wrong question.

Its funny how none of their initial reactions to the end of Mirios fight was "oH wHaT hApPeNeD tO tHe bUgEt wHy iS tHiS a sLiDe sHoW." Unlike the rest of twitter when this episode first aired. Its almost as if this was a creative choice to illustrate how long and hard Mirio faught for. I mean it obviously paid of just look at their reaction.
The animation hasn't been particularly stellar at this point of the season, so they're used to it. I don't think it obviously paid off, they didn't react in that scene like they did when Deku showed up, which is a scene that paid of having after the credits by looking at their reaction.
I personally didn't mind for the slideshow but I don't think it was well illustrated how long exactly he fought for, just that he fought for a bit longer. Reason why every comment ever in this episode mentions it.
@WillFanofMany Um, I'm a manga reader and thought that was they did was brilliant? Less is sometimes (or in anime's cases, almost always) better. If this was Naruto, they would put in entire filler episode with them making up the rest of the fight (and would probably threw in an entire filler season of flashback in between) and it would suck, this is way better.
I mean they do have a point some scenes are lackluster. Esepically considering this is the best part of the arc.
Well, that creative choice was for budget reasons, they threw all that money to the Chisaki vs Deku and the Endeavor fight at the end of the season. But they still manage to do something pretty great, considering that in the manga that part is just literally a sentence on a black panel, they nailed it.
Yeah, as a manga reader, I appreciated the fight. It's a difficult fight to portray because it was still a losing fight. If it had gone on, Mirio would've eventually been killed because of Chisaki targetting Eri. Animating Mirio getting beat up more and more over 5 minutes while protecting Eri would've been heroic at the beginning, but more and more painful as it went on. But when the episode first came out, I felt like my voice didn't count for much xD

I used to be a dub watcher i'm a sub watcher now but honestly mirio's voice actor did a fantastic job here ...it was awesome
Facts, I’m a sub watcher myself and I gotta say, I prefer the dub’s “I am still lemillion”. Same with red riots unbreakable moment.
Lil CHIP I also think that chisaki has a really good actor in both versions. The dub version in the after credits this episode is insane

KingNixx really? I’m the opposite I think the Japanese voice actors did a better job for both lemillion and red riots moment. Dub voices just don’t give the same feels for me anymore, that being said the lemillion dub was better than expected, I hated red riots still though aha

People always complain about dubs, but I think MHA is fantastic for both SUB and DUB. The voice actor for Mirio gave me chills.
At the end the same song that played during All Might’s OVA played here. It’s so beautiful, drawing all the connections between Mirio and All Might. How they have an overpowering drive, and how that drive ultimately led to their fates.
I saw this episode so many times and i still feeling It.

I love it! Every time Deku breaks through at the end of this episode everyone cheers and calls his name, as if it were All Might himself here to save the day.
Lemillion isnt in my top 3 favorite characters of this show but he sure is in the top 5. He might be moving up after this.
Remember last episode Chisaki tried to convince Shigiraki to position his people like chess pieces tactically. But here we see how Chisaki treats them as expendable. But we also see how dangerous Toga and Twice are at dismantling other organisations if Shigaraki starts to understand his ability to respect and understand his fellow villains wants and needs and help them achieve it.

I really struggle to understand why people hate this season, this arc alone is some of the most solid writing of the series
Wolf the Legend i really enjoyed it the first time as well, but after taking a look at it, especially in this episode, there were a lot of still frames with those lines at the edge of the screen to make it look more impactful, but it was a lot like a powerpoint presentation of images, instead of actual fluid animation and moving parts

Damn I REALLY hoped they would have the same version as Blind Wave, that extra context at the end of the episode really seals the deal.
Do note that blind wave's version was edited in by their editor Rhop. There is no subtitle that explained Mirio was fighting for 15 minutes in any of the OFFICIAL dubs or subs.

Miro's fighting style Phasing through the walls & ground then flying back out was so awesome than catching Eri and holding her to protect her was great the end part of the episode when the bullet hit Lemillion during that scene I couldn't believe it, I was holding my breath it got me saying No! Please! No!! During that scene its one of the saddest things Ive seen Miro was still going at it I was at the edge of my seat
