    The Xbox won't run that long when it's under load in the middle of a game. Those things can pull 200 watts, so it'll still last longer than the heater

      Nice thing is the Xbox will throw off a bunch of heat when it's under load, so it's kind of a two-fer.

    Milk crates are a great storage and seating/shelving resource that you can often get for free from local coffee shops, gas stations, restaurants, etc. They’re so durable and have so many uses!

    The solar oven seems okay, but limited in its application. Not against it. I'd just rather build a rocket stove as a part of the outdoor kitchen. It is Super cool. I'll do it if I can find it at the right price.

    There’s a UA-cam channel Martian Doolaard who has a similar style channel however he elevated his tent off the ground which is very effective for many reasons.

    I've seen some glamping setups that arrange their domes or big tents with the kitchen and sitting area around the center so that you have more overhead space when working or relaxing indoors. Maybe I missed it if you've got other plans for the space, and I can't see the whole thing, but it might end up a bit more homey if the TV and storage are on the outside and things you have to stand or sit by take up the higher area.

    • @acornlandlabs
      @acornlandlabs  10 місяців тому +1

      That's a great idea! That makes sense, arranging to preserve the central space and move items like the TV to the edges.

    Solar ovens aren't the best here on the Oregon coast. Hard to get enough sun.

    • @acornlandlabs
      @acornlandlabs  10 місяців тому +1

      The GoSun ovens have a 12 volt option, they use very little power and can still cook rapidly at night in the total dark. It's a good alternative option!

    I was just in my yard cleaning up after my dogs and thought why can't you get heat from the methane digester?

    • @acornlandlabs
      @acornlandlabs  10 місяців тому +1

      It can provide up to 2 hours of cooking fuel daily for the grill top. However, that won't last long enough to heat a tent meaningfully. Great question! If it was a bigger system, we could power alot with it. Industrial cow farms have methane digesters than can power generators and tractors.

    You shouldn't be heating olive oil, not good for you and the flavor, use a neutral oil with a high smoke point. Like a avocado

    • @-whackd
      @-whackd 10 місяців тому

      Avocado oil also has a lot of omega 6s that denature from heating. Butter, suet, lard and coconut oil are best because they are mainly saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids which don't break bonds under heating.

    • @j.m.3038
      @j.m.3038 10 місяців тому +3

      Most people in Europe are cooking (not frying) with olive oil, it's perfectly fine.😉

    So how do you charge the delta with the solar panel? Also is it possible to get internet out there while on solar for online games?

    • @acornlandlabs
      @acornlandlabs  10 місяців тому +1

      We have an adapter cable that connects the Delta to the 400W panel. We showed it in one video, we'll show it again soon! Our hotspots would likely work there.

    gotta say, I don't know how to feel about the whole idea of scavenging for cheap stuff thing, because A) the results are sort of just random, and wont apply to a lot of people, and B) you could be spending who knows how long driving around just to save $2 on one purchase
