I remember my father used to work on repairing things all the time. He would figure out what was wrong and how to fix it. People should be able to do what they want with their own things.

Great video! On a similar note, watching this video made me think back to the news about John Deere remotely disabling the tractors the Russians stole from Ukraine. It raised a lot of eyebrows, and then I think about the fact that I drive a Tesla...

Seriously?! I'm going to have to look that one up. And it's funny, I've wanted a Tesla, but the more I research, the more I think about other options (since TACC [traffic assisted cruise control]) comes on more electric vehicles now.

Definitely agree, however I hope this doesn't become fake to these companies to start selling "repair items" at stupid prices, or only being able to get items from them (would defeat the purpose). Also grats on the sponsor!

As preppers it would be awesome to have better right to repair laws. I just hope the tech companies do more to make policies like Apple is doing. Good stuff TDP

Thanks! I definitely agree that the companies like Apple (very surprising) putting policies in place for RTR, will make some sort of impact. Hopefully it stays a good impact.

Interesting I never thought about this let alone that there would be Legislation around it. Good for Legislators for trying to help us.

Yup, some are trying! But a lot are still not willing to, which is why we need to be aware and prepared! Thanks!

Great video! I will be sharing this with my community. My husband has the skills to build and repair various desktop computers and it would be nice to be able to troubleshoot and repair our own devices. It seems that the "powers that be" want us to be reliant on THEM to solve our problems in every area of our lives rather than allow us to do it ourselves. ** thanks for the website info too!! Take care and be aware. 💋

Thanks for sharing! That's exactly what I'm talking about, I don't want to be reliant on anyone. Which is also why I think Right To Repair hopefully doesn't boil down to "ok, we'll make everything open, but on our websites at super high prices". Thanks again, let me know if you'd like to stream sometime!

Completely support this, although it is way outside my technical skill set for most things (except changing the battery LOL)

This is one of the reasons I'm not a fan of these solar generators, I ordered a Dewalt power station because it's been out a while and everyone loves it, it's a moderate sinewave, but I'm only using tools with it, to use on sensitive electronics I would get a AC line conditioner, it works with batteries I already own, and all you practically need to keep it working is make sure it doesn't get wet and Dewalt batteries I can easily get, it would be charged in my solar shed making it solar.

I agree with you, I'm working on a better solar system (with external batteries and such) so I can have a bit more control over things, but some of the components have items that I might not be able to repair -_-

the best way to force them to allow us to repair is stop buying there stuff and buy stuff that lets us repair the stuff we bought if we speak up with our money they will listen or go broke
