We pay taxes as a punishment for living. It all goes into a black hole while central banks make the money printer go brrrrrrrrrrr and send it to their chums while inflating the currency for the rest of us.
It so frustrating that our current society REQUIRES people to pay thousands per month to Rent the most basic quality of living. If something happens & your unable to make those payments, It's "OH sucks for them.." There's no resources that truly help someone stuck in poverty. Our society points and complains about the poverty issue (I get it) but how can we not CONSIDER things might reflect a deeper issue in our Society? Once someone struggles with poverty, it's very unlikely that person will escape poverty. Instead of addressing & improving these challenging aspects of life. Life is just getting more and more unaffordable. Requirements for renting and jobs are getting more and more absurd. It just adds up & starts to make even the simplest of things become really difficult.. I don't think things should be this difficult. I'm not against capitalism in any way. Just certain things have gotten so out of control and i really think there's better ways we could be living our life's. Modern society does not have to be this dysfunctional and unaffordable for the average person. If this issue improves, it could positively benefit other aspects of Society. Money will go to landlords, taxes, local stores, corporations, insurance companies, banks, local towns, the list goes on. (it's basically the real outcome of a "trickle down effect" not the fonny one we've all been lied to about) If things just continue to isolate people in poverty, then will only see the negative effects spread throughout our society and economy. We gotta look at this situation the same way we look at ecosystems. I don't know why NOTHING is being done about improving these issues. Im honestly sick of our broken system no matter which side it is. None of the Republicans and Democrats are doing the right thing. When stuck in poverty the option to move or do anything isn't possible. There's so much potential here in America, but it's all going to waste to keep everyone poor just so a select few can continue profiting and showing statistics that show the economy is doing well. Can you believe how good our country is doing? It totally doesn't reflect on the real quality of life of the average citizen.. Why are all these people running this great country into the ground? I swear so many people & politicians even from past generations would be so disappointed & disgusted by those who are in control nowadays.. Just tossing so much away, even if it means so much around them falls apart. Community, small towns, local shops, unique places, creative forms of entertainment... It's all gone "because it isn't profitable" As if none of that stuff has a much deeper value to our society? It's all being replaced with the same cookie cutter places in any town you now visit. Starbucks, banks, fast food, bars, grocery stores, insurance companies.. Where did the soul go? The culture we used to at least sorta had in the 90's? Why should we lose all of this over "profits?" and should just accept a bland unaffordable soulless dysfunctional version of things now? We all deserve better than this. I've done construction work for a private contractor for years and my dream wish was to be able to have the opportunity to chip away at building my own little place. I wish I could put all my experience and abilities to use. I wish we could be allowed to utilize our own ingenuity and adaptability to make things, shelters, huts, etc. The frustrating thing is these "things" These idea's, concepts, opportunities, are only available for the wealthy. For example, sure if you have the skills you can build BUT you gotta buy and own the land, you gotta pay for all the permits and follow all the local city requirements, the list goes on.. All that makes these opportunities Unattainable to anyone who isn't at least decently wealthy. The concept of "If you have the skills and are willing to put in the labor and effort yourself, then you can make yourself a little shack near the woods" That concept is GONE. We are not allowed to be creative or adaptive here anymore.. It's all locked up behind a pay wall. Behind restrictions. More than anything I wish we could realize how much we are hindering ourselves. Hindering our Quality of Life. Hindering our ingenuity and our adaptability. Maybe one day we will see how much we are holding ourselves back and letting so much go to waste. I hope one day we can find a way to be living a much better way of life around here..
1in 500 Thats 0.2% of the population of your country. What amount of homelessnes is acceptable if 0.2% isnt, 0.1, 0.05? When will you look at the world and say. "It is pretty good overall for the average person"
I think it still way harder to live of the gird now. Since most land is either owned by someone or protected by a country so you can't do anything in it. Maybe you can find some place where you'd be able to survive with no-one questioning you, but you'd probability have to do tons of research on laws and places and such, which would require that in the meantime you have time and access to internet to do so.
yes. i don't see how you can live with no money at all - property taxes never go away. internet access is a definite bonus to help you need less money unless you managed to pillage a very complete library on your way out of town
At any era, you're poor if you don't have access to these three things: food, shelter, and clothes. Those three aren't available for the poor, meaning as a society we haven't changed since the stone age. Ah yes, whether you're rich or poor depends on where you're spawned.

This feels like the western view of the world. China 🇨🇳 had gone through a much different history from the West. During the Qing dynasty, China was already very poor and weak and because of it, bullied by various foreigners. The ROC period-China was still weak. The PRC took charge of the Mainland and ROC took charge of Taiwan. China was very poor. Much of China lived in the countryside, and as country dwellers, they might be poor but also very self sufficient. The government could easily discipline city dwellers because city dwellers depended on their skill to earn money for a living. Without a job, they would starve. Country dwellers are harder to control because they are located so far away from municipal services, they are very self sufficient and they can’t do anything other than work on the land. A government can’t take away a farmer’s job because the farmer’s job is to work the soil. There is no job to take. I feel like you have taken an American or Western perspective but I will add a Chinese perspective to poverty. Nowadays, China is rapidly urbanizing, and city dwellers tend to depend on the city to provide services. They become less self-sufficient but, as first generation city dwellers, they still retain a lot of the rural work ethic and they are willing to do any job that richer city dwellers won’t do. I don’t think there is an equivalent in the US because a lot of poor people are living in the city, affected by years and decades of racial segregation and discrimination. Their ancestors were exploited by the capitalists to work as slaves, where families would get split up at the whim of the slave master. When society doesn’t serve them, they go into crime to work against society instead of for it. It takes a lot of work to get these people to get back into mainstream society, and that involves job training and job placement services.
i appreciate your viewpoint but you're starting at a more medieval period in china and not the stone age where everyone was, more or less, self-sufficient. if there was more racial diversity in china, besides the yuger (sp?) muslim, china's history with regards to poorness might look closer to what you see in the west
Thank you for remembering us in 7:15 that friendship is more important for beeing happy than wealth/richness. But its also good you've said that a self-sustainng person with low money isn't poor and we should just not tell this person what luxury is, so as long they don't know they don't desire and with no desire one isn't poor. Of course we should prevent them from killing each other in tribe war or give them medical help of they are in need.
I don't know if you can but could you make a video on what it was like for the middle class in every time period? Or at least the closest thing to the middle class?
A person living in New Spain having the same rights as the Peninsula, living better conditions than the war plagued Europe, having proper healthcare thanks to the Church, access to education, a varied diet consisting of vegetables, meat and carbohydrates, with high salaries compared to Europe and worker rights even for slaves: 🗿
I was technically slightly poor yesterday but thankfully this morning my mum got 2 essentials for me: 1: Pepsi (my special drink) 2: Chocolate Spread (the thing I need for my breakfast because I make CSS aka Chocolate Spread Sandwich)
Being rich in early medieval period: Mountains of minerals, several keeps, access to extravagant food, can read and write, educated. Being poor in early medieval period: No money, no house, no food Being rich now: CEO of a company, owns several private jets, each house has a pool, indoor TV and AI controlled security system, doesn't need education Being poor now: Still no money, Still no house, Still no food I guess being poor doesn't change... It's being rich that does
Hey man i watch the rich video.I didn't like nor I sub.... I feel like a ass because your videos are simple, funny and good quality! You got my sub and like! thank you for the videos :3
I feel like this video is very centered around Europe most of the time, like not seeing the whole picture of the world, because being poor in the medieval Era can be very different from what part of the world you were, for example, being from america before colonization is very different from living in some parts of Europe (But very good video anyways)
the issue with living off grid is you'd have to find public land to live off of, otherwise you'll still have to pay property taxes! but i loved you conclusion ❤
Live off the land, what land, it’s full of housing and privately owned land and most of the land has been deforested, built on or ruined, if all 7 billion people lived off the land it would be extremely challenging and most would die cause we lack that knowledge compared to our ancestors too, so many factors and things to consider
Wow, I'm genuinely impressed. Your last video got the iron age all wrong but you corrected it here which shows growth ... except meat being a luxury lol hunting & animal husbandry was still common in the iron age
It's inaccurate to say everyone in the middle ages was a serf with no opportunities. If you could get to a town, you could reasonably work your way up a guild and secure a pretty good life as a craftsman. Plus, a serf who could live in a town for a year and a day was considered a free man.
Poor in short: Stone Age: 💀 Bronze Age: Eh we chillin Iron Age: Aw man economy :( Medieval Age: bigger economy :( Early Modern Era: We EAT the rats Modern Era: Donate me dog pls

A person living in New Spain having the same rights as the Peninsula, living better conditions than the war plagued Europe, having proper healthcare thanks to the Church, access to education, a varied diet consisting of vegetables, meat and carbohydrates, with high salaries compared to Europe and worker rights even for slaves:

y aun asi algunos nos odian, mientras que hablan español y van a misa
y aun asi algunos nos odian, mientras que hablan español y van a misa
1:25 in another perspective, everybody was poor in the stone age, since every one was one day from starvation
Bless you for the black screen
I can’t believe he isn’t at a minimum million subs. People missing out fr
Please also do what is was like to be rich in every period also🙏
how about a video "expression of love through different eras"
I like your videos
This man is epic
W video!!!
I was technically slightly poor yesterday but thankfully this morning my mum got 2 essentials for me:
1: Pepsi (my special drink)
2: Chocolate Spread (the thing I need for my breakfast because I make CSS aka Chocolate Spread Sandwich)
this is awesome
Being rich in early medieval period: Mountains of minerals, several keeps, access to extravagant food, can read and write, educated.
Being poor in early medieval period: No money, no house, no food
Being rich now: CEO of a company, owns several private jets, each house has a pool, indoor TV and AI controlled security system, doesn't need education
Being poor now: Still no money, Still no house, Still no food
I guess being poor doesn't change... It's being rich that does
Hey man i watch the rich video.I didn't like nor I sub.... I feel like a ass because your videos are simple, funny and good quality! You got my sub and like! thank you for the videos :3
I read the title as “how to poop everywhere” at first
Being "poor" in ancient times is something I can only imagine as being "rich" today
Yeah, I lost my sticks. I don’t have any anymore :(
I feel like this video is very centered around Europe most of the time, like not seeing the whole picture of the world, because being poor in the medieval Era can be very different from what part of the world you were, for example, being from america before colonization is very different from living in some parts of Europe (But very good video anyways)
i like drinking water
Water!? Thats peasant juice! 😂
What’s water
This is the true definition of trickle down economics whereas a regular person presently lives more luxurious than rich people back in the day.
the issue with living off grid is you'd have to find public land to live off of, otherwise you'll still have to pay property taxes! but i loved you conclusion ❤
the streams can cover the taxes!!! 😂
@@TrustMeBroOfficial hmmm, this is true, but then you'd need the infrastructure needed for the internet. so are you off grid at that point? 🤔
Stone age to bronze age is a pretty big jump in time
Ohhh so this is what the "source: trust me bro" comes from
What was being a slave like in different civilizations/empires/time periods?
Poor in short:
Stone Age: 💀
Bronze Age: Eh we chillin
Iron Age: Aw man economy :(
Medieval Age: bigger economy :(
Early Modern Era: We EAT the rats
Modern Era: Donate me dog pls
Early modern era is the reainsistance, and medieval and Middle Ages are different eras
can’t believe I almost fell for the camera joke
So poor went from being dead to miserable
9:14 that scared the living crap out of me
