For what I've been through in my life and everything I've seen and experienced, this song brings the depths of my soul out for full display. It stirs so many memories. So much trauma. The memories of addiction. Lost family members. Knowing the route my life will take. Knowing i could have done more for my children. Knowing we'll all die, the question is only when. It pulls at my mind, my memories. It's that gut wrenching feeling, the one you get when you're watching your world fall apart and there's absolutely nothing that you can do about it. The feeling of loss, grief, sadness, depression, hate, love and loneliness all mixed into one. Brings tears to my eyes.....
i dont know why, especially with no lyrics, but this song has ALWAYS really resonated with me, it makes me feel so .... sick. I relate this song to heroin addiction, as theyve gone through it in the movie, and so have i. Hauntingly powerful music.
I really was expecting something at the end that said “all of the people pictured are sufferers of the disease of addiction” and expect something about heroin addiction. The lack of such a message is probably even more telling about my own preconceived notions of drug addiction, and above all, incredibly revealing about the power of this masterpiece.
I cry every time I hear it, it stirs up many memories that I have in my soul even if more than twenty years have passed but at the same time it gives me strength to fight and move on
I would presume that the people down are actual victims of addiction or are playing them. We see in the first part of the video them laughing and smiling, beautiful vibrant people, just bringing home how terrible it is that we lose people like this to the horrors of addiction every single day.
never again, never again, never again, never again, never again, never again, never again, never again, never again, never again, never again, never gain, never again, never again, never again i'll never fucking use again, never there is a way out

Heard literally 3 seconds of this on the end of some UA-cam short about tipping culture, and have been tearing my hair out for hours trying to work out what it was. So glad I found it because I adore this song. Curse my ADHD brain for being a sieve. Thank you for such beautiful works of art, Mr Mansell.
one time as a kid I stayed home during the week...feeling sick ...and I was bored and found this random movie and asked my dad what it was..and he said watch it when I leave...and I bet you'll never watch it again...crazy that I was in 3rd grade like 7 yrs old maybe 8...and somehow I understood the entire movie beginning to end...and then grew up to watch these exact horrors happen to people I loved, cared about, and grew up with...and now I see that true horror is set in our reality...and the entertainement industry just highlights our vices until we fall too deep into them..and most never make it out of that cycle..dont fall in love with a "feeling". Its a nice thrill ride...but it doesnt last forever.
based father. The only problem i have with this movie is that i watched it way too late. This movie should be shown in schools, but in germany its not even watchable on any streaming site.
Does anyone else remember the classic Clint Mansell lyrics "What's the time? It's DefCon One!" and not feel the same stirring of the heart that this song also conveys? Sample it, Loop it, Fuck it, Eat it. 😉
@user-ok1xq5qm9t took me like 6 months to get this song down with easy to medium tutorials. i used a few different videos to make the song the way i wanted
We all have something that consume us slowly in a quest for Hapiness most of us destroy our life without thinking about it then later we complain about thing wich we are the instigator this game can be dangerous as some may loose control and become crazy or worse than that
There are 5-6 versions of this piece that play in the film. This is the last one, and it has lost all the joy of the beginning, every overtone of hope.

Favorite movie. Favorite Composer. This man is a modern genius. Your soundtrack made this movie a masterpiece.
Gotta also give credit to the Kronos quartet who’ve also worked with ones like the Great Philip Glass

I listened to this at the gym this morning, working out hard, with tears. WOW
It brings me a sad that’s so sorrowful, an emptiness that’s so radiating and harrowing… just ailing and devastating.
200 years from now, we would be studying Clint Mansell like we study Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, Tchaikovsky and many others in current era
No, we wouldn't

I recommend Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain. The Music, also composed by Clint Mansell, and film are both unforgettable!
Hell yea! Can recommend it too!
Yea best movie for me

this is beauty and pain, merged together.
The sense of despair is as much overwhelming as sublime.

This music is so epic.
Amazing work! Amazing melodic world! Thank you!
Just realized @Clint Mansell had his own UA-cam channel! Why doesn’t this have billions of followers?!?
Because we stopped listening to Pop Will Eat Itself?

I don't think so. They are just normal people that he requested to appear in the video.
The most beautiful music I have ever heard. How a man can create smth like this?

This soundtrack will forever make me cry.
This is one of those pieces that can't be made in your lifetime. It's so timeless.

It's an odd-fitting official video for music so universally dark and morose. Would love to hear the thought process behind it.
