The first time I ever fought her it took me I believe around an hour to beat her. It was one of the most frustrating moments I've ever spent playing a fighting game, and it was just enraging. By this point however, I'd had to do forty playthroughs of arcade mode, each time having to fight her as the final boss. By that time, I'd more or less gotten used to the difficulty and knew how to defeat her relatively easily. Tengu is a horribly heavy character though, with lots of his moves having more delay than most others, which was why she was suddenly so damn difficult for me to defeat again. If you look at my Nicole video here, for instance: ua-cam.com/video/q2sCHm0v6-w/v-deo.html I actually manage to take her out the first time there, so with the right character it's pretty doable. The problem is that Tengu is one of the hardest characters to do it with, but luckily it's still not impossible!
@@AdmiralMcFish I'm not big on doa tbh but I do play some of them 1 and 4 being my favs.. mostly number 1 tho cause of the exploding floors feature which I think is awesome and should have been in more of the Doa"s.. the only real characters I can play in doa somewhat decently without knowing the moveset for is kasumi and ayane.. I'm more of a tekken fan tbh.. btw I've got a load of vids up if you wanna check them out and I've also subbed yr channel too :)
You mean to tell me that you can still unlock Tengu, even if you have the rounds set to 1 for every character? Damn, looks like I put myself through an unnecessary hell unlocking Tengu with everything at the default settings for Time Attack, which doesn't matter now since it somewhat made unlocking all the costumes an easier task for me.
Yep. I looked that up and made sure that it was correct because, if it wasn't, I wouldn't have bothered to unlock Tengu. I got used to this game's difficulty after a while, and did end up enjoying it a bit, but that would have been a bit much for me.
If I had to guess, I suspect it was because they just wanted one extra bonus character, and it was probably easiest to re-use Tengu after having made DOA2 Ultimate the previous year.
Yeah, I've never liked him very much. Every other boss in the series is some kind of genetic creation and fits into the themes of the series, whereas Tengu is just kind of...there, really. Honestly pretty glad he got replaced with Nyotengu.

Tengu being in DOA4 was something I NEVER IN MY LIFE saw coming when I first saw this.
It's pretty neat to be sure, and was clearly intended as the super secret unlockable given that you have to do like 40 playthroughs to get the guy.

Yep. Beat Time Attack with every character, including the unlockable ones.
So, they used Bankotsubo's moveset and gave it to Nyotengu? Speaking of unoriginal... I'm disappointed in Koei now...
The funny thing is, this is a slightly different moveset to the one he had in DOA2, which is the one they later gave to Nyotengu.

In short, there isn't one. It takes 41 playthroughs in total to unlock the fucker, unfortunately. Part of the reason why DOA4 is so tedious.
