I will never get the frights and chills this game gave me when I was about that same age. So I played it a lot more than Duke3d or Doom... probably the game I played the most in life. I still love that vibe in this songs too, big part of the entertainment of playing today as an adult

Their vocal cords hanging out with men wearing robes holding them at the tip with their pink fingers and a gap between their point fingers. Whispering in their palms the cords sing this song and anybody hearing it can't block their ears as the sound is coming straight from their ears in to their ears. Unholy Voices: Grey sky with dark green clouds quickly passing by. A river made from cut and crushed eyes with eyeless corpses cutting, crushing and pouring eyes into the river and having open stretched mouths with blood dripping from them, trying to scream even when their throat and vocal cords are bleeding after screaming. Infuscomus: A mansion with two thick front doors. Touching the doors make you hear her singing. Opening the doors reveal corpses singing without moving their mouths but you can see their throats moving to the sound. A room ahead with hooks hanging from chains are up on the ceiling going in a circle with one hook piercing a young kids foot. The hooks go up and down in the circle making it look like the dead children are dancing around something. I could go on but why bother.
Why? why do you need limits when you can be subtle? instead of shock factor for simple braindead games you can instead not shove it in people's faces and put it in the background and the foreground so you can do as much as you like as long as it's not shoved in your face. It's brilliant

So many great ideas, awesome musics, awesome atmospheres, awesome maps and weapons... Been in love with Timesplitters and Postal 2 for years, and when you play this you just understand where they took inspiration

However, the MIDI versions (of the actual song parts) actually sound VERY close to the CD tracks when played back on a Roland Sound Canvas SC-55.

The good news is that Jace Hall (CEO of Monolith Productions) spoke to the Blood community (on post mortem forums) on how he was interested in making a source port for Blood. He then sent a letter to Atari asking for their permission and support for this venture. Atari finally responded to his letter a few days ago. Unfortunately, they declined his request. There's a possibility that they might discuss it further in the future, but for now,that's all there is to it.

Did you get the Steam release because Cryptic Passage is a expansion pack that doesn't have an executable for what ever reason. I've heard you have to make your own. I have just never bothered to.

I wish Unholy Voices were mixed differently so the voices are more in the background and the instrumentation is in the forefront, and all the volumes are more even.
I watched videos for this game and wanted to play. I thought that this game was impossible to get now and just found it was on steam since 2014. It is a lot of fun but I am a bit rusty with old fps and I cant even beat the first level
Interesting - I live in Australia and that first track had a different opening. They simply skipped to 0:46 and started the redbook audio from there. That said - AMAZING SOUNDTRACK, still love this game, will never forget it.
Blood came with 2 Music Soundtracks: The Midi Version and the CD Audio Version. If you played Blood without the CD then the game automatically sets the Music to the Midi Soundtrack If you played Blood with the CD then the game automatically sets the Music to the CD Audio Soundtrack. It can be easily adjusted with the Physical Copy such as myself who has it but I'm not sure on the Digital Copies. I heard that Blood: Fresh Supply has the option to set which Audio Soundtrack you want to listen to but I can't say for sure.
I'm not sure if they have completely closed down. What I do know is that they voluntarily filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy so that they could utlilize it to separate from Infogrames (French parent holding company). My guess is that Blood got caught up in all this confusion and therefore since Atari had more important things to worry about, they declined Jace's request. I'm quite confused myself, but hopefully in the future they come back to it and discuss it further.

People and groups used to release these out constantly from different companies. 3D Realms, Monolith, People Can Fly, Bullfrog where are they now? I don't get why some get bought up when the company isn't even making those types of games or know anything about it.

I wouldn't mind the rest so much if it weren't for the dang "neener-neener" rhyming children in Infuscomus which to me feel rather out of place (and just plain annoying), and Dark Carnival, while pretty awesome on its own, I found to be quite distracting while playing the game because of how bombastic it gets. I grew up playing the disc version of Blood, not the GOG version, so naturally that old MIDI sound was the music of my childhood. Plus I guess I'm just a sucker for the originals.

It does, but you have to run cryptic.exe with dosbox instead of blood.exe
It plays in the ending of Cryptic Passage.
