- Expo Line light rail transit pre-opening ride from 7th & Flower / Metro Center to La Cienega in Los Angeles, 4/4/2012.
Some street and station stops were omitted from this video; total time end-to-end was 28 minutes. Shot with an iPhone 4S and posted without sound because it was mostly background conversation.
Sure is nice to see this operating. I haven't lived in the LA area for over 40 years, and back then, lines like this were heresy to even talk about. Very nice video. I hope I get to ride it at some point.
Whoops - not 20, but 28 minutes. Still better than the bus. I can feel every pot hole on 'Venice when riding the 733.
20 minutes between Metro to La Cienega is pretty good. The 733 Express Metro Bus takes 40-45 minutes between Sepulveda and Figueroa and that bus route is only 1/2 to a mile longer.
There's a big parking structure at La Cienega (southeast of the aerial Expo station), but it may fill up on opening weekend.
Expo Line Phase 2 is now under construction on that right-of-way past Cheviot Hills. See our friends4expo website's Phase 2 construction photos tab for more.
It needs signal priority ASAP. It should be much faster than this. Having said that, thank goodness it's almost ready to open.
Awesome this helps alot thanx cuz im going to Jefferson Usc Station 2morrow mrn
Why does expo have to stop at every light? Isn't that the point of light rail, to get through these stop lights and make your trip more convenient?
Public transport should always have priority, and in US, they don't, which makes public transportation suck
can somebody, anybody, please tell me why expoline does not use signal prioriry at intersections,i've looked all over but cannot find an answer,
what is the parking lot like? i am planning to drive from marina del rey to culver city.
I ended up driving from marina del rey to downtown. Then took the expo line to usc.
