Not many makeup gurus (or professionals) go this far and adventurous with make up. I love it, being gender fluid/androgynous myself. You're such a lovely person
I've finally found a makeup tutorial that celebrates my naturally not very feminine features and it makes me so happy! :) thank you for making this video!
In fact, it is a great "no make up" make up! Your skin looks flawless. Even being a girly girl, I could easily do these steps and add a touch of blush and black mascara. You are the best, Lisa!
I really appreciate this. Ever since coming out as genderqueer and transitioning I've struggled with how to reconcile my love of makeup and huge collection of it with my gender identity and desire to look gender neutral. While I've come to accept that it's okay to still wear fun and "girly" makeup that makes it obvious I'm wearing makeup, this is a great tutorial for those days when I just want to look androgynous as possible!
+midnight kitsune (midnightkitsune) same!!! my friend sent this to me because i'd really like to look more androgynous than i do now and its so lovely to know theres this bit of help, yknow?
Agreed! Though one way to think about makeup is as "drag". When I'm androgynous or boyish I feel like I'm expressing one part of my personality and when I'm wearing my (cis) girl face I think of it as just another kind of drag. That way I have the maximum amount of fun and self expression!
I have always appreciated your makeup tutorials but this gave me a whole new level of respect for you. as a gender fluid person this means a lot to me. thank you
I'm naturally androgynous looking and exploit it to the fullest. I love pulling masculine features to the foreground. I'm very much not a girly girl. Strangly, it weirds no one out. I particularly like enhancing it even more with mandarin collar shirts and tight jackets modeled on oldfashioned army jackets and straight pants. Rather dramatic and obviously put together. On the other hand i do like going full frill on occasion with tons of old lace shirts, lots of velvet and big billowing skirts, see if i care. I feel awesome.
Hooray for the new video! Lisa you are amazing. Your videos are truly a work of art, everything from your informative techniques to the simplicity of your videos. You truly are a Makeup Artist! xx Mohammed Hindash
I’m a (very amateur) drag king and vaguely gnc person. It’s nice to have something that bridges that gap. Full on drag makeup is by nature not something you can wear normally, but sometimes i want to look more masc in my real life. Thank you.
i used to do my makeup like this all the time without thinking it was especially boyish whatsoever bc it's one of those looks that enhances your features really well while looking very minimalistic and clean!
Lisa, I love how you keep each look fresh whether its modern or not. You continuously inspire me to think about makeup in ways that aren't typically conventional.
A great everyday tutorial for those individuals that were born female who identify as non binary, gender fluid, transgender, etc. Also a great cosplay makeup for cosplaying male and boy characters!
I have watched a few of your videos now, I like the way you mix up the expensive makeups with the cheaper brands. As someone who doesn't have alot of spare cash, it gives me a more realistic sense of what I can invest heavily in and then buy relatively cheaply to balance it out a bit. Also love the calm and professional delivery of your videos. Thank you.
I have to say, you have a face that can take as much/or little makeup very well. Each look you have done holds up so well with letting your natural beauty shine through. I'm sure that is proof of your talent.
you are the most talented preson ever.it's amazing how you change one detail and it changes the whole look.the minute you started doin you eyebrows it transformed the whole look and i find it amazing.well done lisa, you're my favorite!! xoxo
@PinkZombii if you are feeling that way stick to the basics ... good foundation application, mascara, concealer etc. Avoid trends and 'looks' for now. Like everything, make-up takes practice so spending time on learning to do a simple, basic natural look is the most important first step. Good luck with it! x
I think this is so great! Nobody does stuff like this but it's so helpful and good for flattering face shapes that tend to have that androgynous beauty (as opposed to a more feminine/"pretty" face)
I absolutely love this look so much! I've been wanting to match my rock and roll androgynous style make up wise and this is really helpful and to me very beautiful! Understated beauty.
I love how you applied your lip balm on your lips, and then went straight to your eyes and applied it there as well. it BLEW me away lol. VERY NICE LOOK. You are an inspiration for me.
I love this because I have a very androgynous face and I always wished I looked more feminine because of my style but now I love my bigger sharp features and I look fierce and unique
Love this kind of brows! This looks reminds me of this picture of Taylor Swift for some cover magazine, she was unrecognizable in a good way, all in the brows really.
This is such a fab look! No one else on UA-cam will have the guts to try it and be able to pull it off! It's so smart and incredibly chic in a unique way. Love the brow, such a statement! Love it love it love it! Remind me something from the 30s! Awesomeness!
Lisa, I ADORE this. It's such a fantastic alternative to girly-girl, as you say, and as a confirmed aftershave/androgynous fragrance wearer (Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver, no less!) gifted with fairly full brows, this really appeals to me. And thanks too for turning me on to Dermalogica (in a skincare video you did ages ago). It really suits my skin.
Ah I'm so glad I found this!!! I only recently discovered that I'm genderfluid a month ago, and having these tips to help make my face look more masculine on the days I feel more masculine is wonderful
Once again, I admire you for proposing looks that are no where to be seen on UA-cam. And this is brilliantly executed!! What a gorgeous nude look, which enhances the natural beauty. In the end, it is more androgynous than manly. I would try it!
me: *has never worn makeup voluntarily outside of letting my sister do it, doesn't know how to do this, has no intention of looking in a mirror ever* also me: time to do that
You never cease to amaze me and I'm sure everyone else, your also very classically beautiful to look at. I second what the other lovely said; please please please open your own academy!!!!!!!! (sorry for so many ! Definitely needed)
what a charming, intelligent woman and an extremely talented makeup artist you are, Lisa. Bravo! Many thanks from Ukraine for sharing the beauty of your gift and your knowledge with the world.
finally found a make up look that suits me and my brows! my brows are naturally thick and ive never plucked or threaded them so this is perfect for me!
Aloha Lisa! What a great look. While I'm a "girl," I'm not a girlie girl. More of a boy-girl! LOL Thanks for this...what a fun change for those who want to do something a bit different. :))))
Such a subtle yet striking transformation! I really noticed how intense your eyes became as you straightened your brows into some mean guybrows! Bit of an ah-ha moment for me! Super cool "I mean business" look!
I love your videos soooo much, Lisa! You are a beautiful artist. Someone below said your voice is very calming too, and I so agree. I sometimes watch your videos before bed because they are so relaxing to watch. Thank you so much for all of the loveliness you bring.
I love this look... for myself I'm pretty tired of the smokey, archy, layered look... I think this will be my fall look until the holidays & maybe then... Thank you much....
Really excited to see what Tom Ford did with his new makeup collection. It was nice to have a first look at it in the video as well as hearing your thoughts on the product. I would love to see a video introducing the line like what you did with Ellis Faas and Burberry. Thank you for your videos Lisa. They are very inspiring and finding a new upload in my mailbox always makes for an exciting time in my day.
sweet Jesus I love this!!! thank you, you made this easier for me to do my makeup since im androgynous/genderfluid and its nice to know how to do my boyish makeup so it looks really nice :)
I like so much this look, is the third time I see it. I like so much the balance between dramatic structure and beauty feminine, its a glamour catwalk wearable look, very very chic. And again i love your "moral", "philosophy" of make up. Thanks a lot.
I just happened to stumble upon your videos, this is the only one i've watched so far, but i really like the style you do your videos in. They are really professional, and very informative, and you seem really personal and sincere, and i like that. :)
This looks amazing, will definitely incorporate it into my androgynous looks in the future, I was never quite sure how to make the make-up match those sorts of outfits.
Hi, Lisa! Fantastic look and very chic. I enjoy everything you do on yourself and I try to learn all the good advises you give us all. I love doing my face since I follow your blog. Thank you very much. I must say that I also enjoy your elegant accent. Every video you make is a nice present for me. Thanks a lot. Love from Spain.
It's a dream come true video I was waiting for! It didn't show up in my subscription box and went to you website to request a video about your favorite foundations.
Gorgeous!! I love it, a lot! I also "get" the point. It isn't about looking "boyish" as much as it is "androgyny" which is very attractive. This is a beautiful look, you pull it off well!
Hi Lisa, I love this video, you look catwalk ready! I booked myself into Selfridges (on Monday) and got a Gankin massage facial recommended by you. It was so lovely, the lady who massaged my face was lovely and explained everything she was doing. I had my make-up done using Suqqu products and I bought the brow pen, lipstick and mascara. Thanks for recommending it Lisa I had a lovely experience. PS had a look (and feel) of the Suqqu brushes and love them, they are now on my wish list!
Lisa I love your videos!!! I always ask mua´s here on youtube to make a priscilla presley late 60s look, i think is very interesting the heavy make up they wore back then, I would love to see you recreting it. There are none on youtube and it is a very gorgeous kind of characteristic make up THANK YOU SO MUCH
I love this look! It's completely on trend with the whole boyish look yet somehow it manages to stay feminine. It's not something that i'll necessaily be doing but i definitely appreciate the look and love watching all your videos (was kind of shocked that i hadn't watched this one yet when it came on my list today)

I really appreciate how this video shows that 'masculine' and 'pretty' aren't mutually exclusive concepts!
This is actually almost what i do for everyday because i have a soft spot for androgynous looks.
Green Fairy Sames though
Same but only on girls for some reason 🤔
Me too

This look is perfect if you're cosplaying as a boy. Very natural, yet it will photograph nicely without looking fake.
I have always appreciated your makeup tutorials but this gave me a whole new level of respect for you. as a gender fluid person this means a lot to me. thank you

I think I might be one, too. I'm experimenting and exploring androgyny in order to find out if I'm gender fluid or something else than a woman...

haha this is kinda late but if you do wear makeup, i like to bring my contour down a little lower than it is and sorta craft a jawline as well.
@@puurrrr female to Male I think don't quote me tho
Damn. Lisa could pull some birds like that.

Lisa,

Your voice is so calming 💜
A great everyday tutorial for those individuals that were born female who identify as non binary, gender fluid, transgender, etc.
Also a great cosplay makeup for cosplaying male and boy characters!
Maybe a better way to phrase that would be AFAB (assigned female at birth)? But I totally agree, this is a great tutorial
I have watched a few of your videos now, I like the way you mix up the expensive makeups with the cheaper brands. I have to say, you have a face that can take as much/or little makeup very well. Each look you have done holds up so well with letting your natural beauty shine through. I'm sure that is proof of your talent.
Could you do a tutorial of your hair, too? I think that would be fabulous to really pull the look together for those who want to try it.
Hi Lisa! Member of the third gender here (male, andro) and this is an awesome everyday look. Thank you so much!

Thank you for showing us a diverse range of looks. I've been looking for a wearable androgynous tutorial, and this was perfect!
Wow! The look changes right before your eyes when you do the brows!! Amazing work!
