Tempered Glass or Toughened Glass is done for safety purpose cause when Glass breaks it can cause severe i jury to people around, but toughened glass when breaks , it breaks into very small pieces which cannot cause any major injury. So the main purpose is Safety , toughened glass is stronger than annealed glass i.e. non toughened glass.
