Losing a parent on Christmas day is so bloody hard. My mum passed away suddenly on Christmas day 14 years ago, I've not been able to celebrate Christmas since, it just doesn't have the same meaning anymore so i feel for this family, so glad they got a new home x

I wish we had people like you guys here in South Africa. My dream is having a piece of land where I can build small houses and help other people.

Great community support in a broad sense. If builders in some 55 hours - say a week - can build a house that passes inspection in one go, then they have prototyped a business model. They solved the "logistics inefficiency" that builders around the world make clients suffer from, as well as from quality issues.
And finishing in a week means "double costs" on the side of the owner are brought down significantly.
The stone or brick and mortar will have been glued on panelling, maybe prefab, because with real brick & mortar you can only go up about 2 ft per day. All in all, it's a great accomplishment.
This will have aired a long time ago, I guess. Is there a follow up? Are there longer term experiences? How did these families get taxed by the IRS?
And how did the builder that did this proceed from here?

Amazing home for deserving family but how will she afford to run and keep it? Maybe something a little smaller she can afford would be better.

That’s why I preferred the earlier episodes - they only fixed the issues of the house, refurbished it, sometimes added one extension but nothing crazy. So still manageable for the families. Then they started going overboard.

It's always a joy to watch this episode, but there's a few things missing:-
Did Michael, Paige, Eduardo or Tanya talk with Marynn's sister about her taking them in when David passed?
    They never showed Naomi's room
Did Ty and the design team go to the fire station where David volunteered or the hospital where he worked?

I hope her panic did not fail to save her husband. Seen a few videos of folks that panic, when they should be acting. We all need to be the type of person that can be relied upon to drop the drama and act.

What’s wrong with you?? It’s a traumatic enough experience. U don’t know how u would act in that situation. She did the best she could. She and her very young daughter had to watch him die. What an insensitive comment!!

    • @kazzana9013
      @kazzana9013 3 місяці тому

@@cboog500 I do know how I would react. I preformed CPR on my husband 20 months ago. We talked about his wishes in the following days, and he asked I let him go the next time. I know what it is like to have your heart ripped out.
We all need to be the best we can be for our loved ones in a crisis. The focus needs to be on the one that needs help. I cannot imagine how selfish and self absorbed someone has to be, not to put their own emotions aside in a crisis, not to bring everything they can for their loved one.
Be assured there are endless days to relive and experience emotions after a loss. Beware of folks that are too empathic, they are often the cowards who can't act when life depends on it. What type of person are you? Have you the made sure you have the skills needed in an emergency? Do you have the strength to put aside your terror at losing your love one, to just give them total love and care? Empathy needs to be balanced with strength and responsibility if we are not to let our loved ones down.
Her best was not good enough and I hope she realizes that and works on herself. We are all weak in ways, but to be honest, folk that make it all about their emotions in a crisis trigger disgust in me. I do feel a great deal of empathy for her loss, just not her lack when life depended on her.
